There's nothing like it. Finally, someone gets you, sees you, accepts you. Or so it seems. And while we get lost in the joy of finding that person, we ignore who they are, what we like about *them* that's not based on how we feel about ourselves when we're with them. Dating after emotional abuse is a minefield. We are both highly suspicious and highly susceptible to ignoring red flags. Frequent check ins with ourselves, with friends who we know we can trust is imperative to our saftety. Because learning to trust after abuse isn't about trusting others, it's about trusting ourselves to see, and act on what we see. That means both knowing when to walk away and knowing when we're looking for reasons to. If you're looking for help healing, go to www.liberationacademy.co.uk/courses to help.
