I am a qualified Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga teacher but I am also heavily influenced by my training in Anusara and Embodied Flow as taught by my teacher Tara Judelle. I strongly believe in the transformational power of yoga as I have experienced first hand the life changing effect it can have on you. My classes are designed to help you achieve a fitter, more flexible and spacious body and I focus on the power of the breath to create a calm and centered mind. My wish is for my students to move from the inner body, to step down from the head into the space of the heart, for them to experience pure awareness without judgement and to discover and connect to the inner joy that exists within us.

This week we look at a dynamic surrendering as we combine Ishvara Pranidhana with a clear Intention and work towards Inversions. Click the link to read, to browse or to book a class X

Ishvara Pranidhana, Intention & Inversions Yoga is the embodied realisation of your Divinity, that you are everything and that everything is you. To wake up to this Self realisation can happen instantaneously but mostly it takes work. The practices of Yoga, of which there are many, are that work.

H is for ... Hinduism & Hanumanasana. A delicious flow this week that takes us towards full splits pose and how Yoga pre dates all organised religion.

Hanumanasana & Hinduism I tried starting a class in a church once - naming no names - and wasn't allowed to because Yoga is Hinduism and a practice that celebrated one God was not allowed to be carried out in a place that worshipped another. I have respect for people with religious beliefs but I thi...

This week G is for .... Garudasana, Gomukasana and Goddesses. Come and channel your inner Goddess in this week's hip centered flow. Click the link to read this week's post and to book your spot

Garudasana, Gomukasana & Goddesses When I used to hear people talk about Goddesses I always secretly wondered if they were a little bit unhinged. Like an adult believing in Fairies and Father Christmas. I can be very judgemental - something I am working on - and I find spiritually ungrounded people....

This week E is for .... Ego, Enlightenment and Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. A lot to unpack. Click on the link to read the email where I recommend some amazing books on the subject, to book your spot or just browse my website X

Ego, Enlightenment & Eka Pada Rajakapotasana Big topics! And how to summarise them in a short email? Enlightenment, put simply, is the 'goal' of yoga. All of these practices of yoga are designed to wake us up to the truth of who we are. To recognise beyond cognition, with our whole being, that our i...

This week D is for ... Dancing with Dolphins & Dharma. My understanding of Dharma and how living it may feel as joyful as dancing with dolphins. Click the link to read this week's email, to book your spot or to browse my website X

Dancing with Dolphins & Dharma I'm so loving this theme. I was worried it would seem a bit trite but each week I get to explore different aspects of Yoga and then share with you lessons that have transformed my life. I changed when I found yoga. Anyone who knew me then and knows me now will testify....

This week C is for ... Compassion, Clarity and Chaturanga Dandasana. We're never too old to go back to school. Click the link to read this week's email about my beautiful dog, finding clarity through compassion and extending that to our physical practice.

Chaturanga, Compassion & Clarity I have a dog, Toffee Apple, who some of you will know. She is (nearly) a 15 year old chocolate Labrador. She's a beautiful dog, in her manner, her temperament, her face ... (she's always been a bit dodgy looking from the neck down ). Anyway we love her. Very much. An...

One more opportunity to practice with me this week. This week B is for .... Breath, Bandhas, Bakasana and Bhujangasana .... click the link to find out more, to book your spot or to browse my site X

Breath, Bandhas, Bakasana and Bhujangasana. Breath is an integral part of this practice and an often ignored tool in our tool box. It is like our own personal pharmacy that can be used for regulating the nervous system, getting us out of our head and into our body. It can be used to calm us down but...

Yogis we're about to embark on our biggest theme yet. We're going back to school to either refine that which we think we know or to dive into new information and our subject matter for the next 26 weeks ... Lessons in Love. The older I get the more I love learning. Not stuff that doesn't interest me...

Namaste

I have a passion for teaching all aspects of Yoga. My own practice, having developed over many years, has had a life changing effect on me. I have done many and varied trainings over the years and I bring all of this into my classes but I teach from experience. Knowing the impact Yoga has had on every aspect of my life fuels my purpose, my teaching comes from a felt sense of this practice and not just from a text book and as such I want to make this practice available to all. I therefore keep my prices low - a 1 hour class is just £6, a 1.5 hour class £8 and a 2 hour class just £10. I also offer a community class each week where you are able to pay whatever you can afford. Please check out my website www.lornayoga.com or click on Book Now for the class schedule.
