✨YOGA CLASSES✨

Hello! 🙂

I hope you’ve had a flowing summertime 🌞🌿🌻🌸💧

If you’re anything like me, the changes towards autumn are a bit scary 🥹xx

Luckily, we have YOGA for all the seasons of our life! ♥️🧡💛💚💙

The effects of a regular practice can include:

✨Stress/ anxiety regulation

✨Increased flexibility

✨Toning + strengthening the body

✨Improved mood

✨Feeling more balanced, present + connected

I find these effects can be even stronger when we practise in a group with others.

Hope you have a lovely bank holiday 🌼🌿

It’s mental health awareness week 🫶

I like to share my past mental health struggles in hope my words might be helpful in some way 💛

I say past… I do still go into the dark woods for a little holiday sometimes 😉… to a place where my bones feel like lead and I have a never ending well of sadness in my tummy 💀

Or maybe a visit to the weird alien lands where it feels like I am floating out into the scary abyss with nothing to tether me.. 👽👀

But things are wayyy more settled in my inner landscape these days 🌿 (Sooo unexplainably grateful for more mental okayness!!!)

Things that help me be a more grounded and content human:

✨Learning more about myself, how my mind works, what on earth is going on with my nervous system, how to hold + soothe my emotions 😵‍💫

(Including decent talking therapy, currently LOVING internal family systems, AKA parts work 🙏)

✨Embodiment practices like yoga + meditation.. learning to anchor into my body and out of my busy head 🌪️

✨Reading about psychology + spirituality 📖

✨Journalling ✒️…

✨Having wonderful people in my life who I can explore the mysteries and challenges of the human condition with 🥰###

Hope it doesn’t sound like I’m showing off 😂

One thing… I’m very lucky to actually enjoy the above things. Yes they are challenging at times, but I LOVE the treasures they bring 🌞

And that’s a hard piece of the puzzle isn’t it… When you’re in the depths of suffering it can feel impossible to focus on anything 😔

Trying to function with the serotonin levels of a dried out slug or a brain that seems to be made of racing snakes 🐍 can be actual hell on earth.

Sending deep compassion to those fighting inner battles. You are sooo strong 🔥 and you are not alone 🙂

Recently I’ve been practising more silent meditation, which feels exciting! 😁 ✨

Meditation and yoga nidra are ESSENTIAL to my well being 🙏 So important!!

One thing I did notice recently though… is a kinda disconnect between my practice 🧘‍♀️and daily living.

I can get into such a lushhh space of calm and regulation… which seems to go out the window within 5 mins of parenting (for example 👀..)

Going from deeply peaceful to moody mum very quickly 😅

So, I thought about this 🤔.. How can I bridge the gap between meditation and daily living?

🔹One way is to bring attention to my body and breath, in life situations outside of practice.

Can I be in interaction with the world whilst simultaneously being aware of what’s going on with my body and breath? 🌬️

Could this help me respond to life in a way that feels more wholesome? 🌳

🔹Another way is to actively explore my emotions during structured meditation time.

Can I hold space for parts of me to come to the surface?

And to sit with them, the sensations ⚡️the energy 🌀the feelings…

🏃‍♀️Not running to the next thing or distracting myself. But really allowing those experiences to be there.

Can I practise feeling what needs to be felt, whilst holding myself with love and kindness? 🧡
