MOBILITY!

Lacking mobility is the first thing that makes you feel old.

Just 1 hour per week of stretching, moving properly and doing some simple foam roller exercises can make a massive difference. I know myself through some self care, I feel better for simple things like picking things up off the floor and not aching first thing.

Maria runs 3 fantastic classes each week to help with all of this. The classes are suitable for all and cover mobility, stretching, foam roller techniques and Pilates.

Maria Francis, Sports Massage therapist continues this ethos, bringing some fresh Pilates classes to our studio!

Pilates is great for improving core strength, flexibility, mobility…I hear you, you’re not flexible enough!! Well that’s like saying you’re too dirty to have a shower!

Pilates can also help injury prevention…now do I have your attention?

Maria includes foam rolling and massage ball work to help get rid of tension and any tight areas, therefore reducing the risk of injury!

Yes…’healthy’ looking drinks have calories too! 🧃

When we are talking fat loss, we need to consume fewer calories than we burn. 🔥

One thing to consider is liquid calories. 💦
Fruit juices and smoothies are packed with goodness, but remind yourself HOW MUCH fruit has made that one glass. 🍎

A 16oz glass of orange juice has similar calories to 6 oranges. Take out all that fibre and not only do you have a lot of sugar, you won’t be full. So you’re more likely to want a snack with that OJ 🍊

It’s also a good idea to be mindful of how many calories are in your favourite beverages. When you order your Starbucks, do you know the calorie content…or a lower calorie alternative? ☕️

Try switching some of these calorific drinks and see what impact it can have on your fat loss journey. I’d love to hear how you get on!

For the past couple of months, Wendy has showed up every week. By exercising a bit more and being more committed, her eating habits have sub consciously changed slightly. I have not put Wendy on a diet, restricted her in any way or given her a magic pill.
