We’re delighted to announce that our maternity service has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by the Care Quality Commission!

The report share insights from people using the service who said they felt treated with kindness and dignity, were listened to by staff, who respected their choices and supported them to have the birth experience they wanted, wherever safe to do so.

Louise Stead, Group Chief Executive, said: “This result is a testament to the team’s hard work, resilience and determination to deliver sustained improvement.”

The Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency confirm that taking paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe and there is no evidence it causes autism in children.

There is no evidence linking paracetamol use in pregnancy with autism.

If you're pregnant and unsure about which medicines you can take, speak to your consultant, midwife, GP or pharmacist.

You can also visit the NHS website for trusted information.

The Neonatal Care (Leave and Pay) Act will take effect on 6 April 2025 🎉

After campaigning alongside Bliss and The Smallest Things, almost 60,000 working parents will benefit from this new entitlement every year.

The new law will offer up to 12 weeks of extra leave and pay for parents who qualify for the support. It will mean that parents can spend quality time with their babies in hospital if they are born sick or premature, without the worry of having to return to work.
