Lisa’s Story

Lisa came to fall in love with Yoga via a local Hot Yoga studio. Lisa was suffering from chronic back and hip pain and was looking for a way to manage her day to day discomfort. Lisa was also suffering emotionally. A close friend had lost her battle with cancer and her uncle was loosing his. Whilst she didn’t realise it at the time, she believes now that the emotional strain had manifested as physical pain. The intensity of the ‘hot room’ gave Lisa no choice but to turn her attention inwards, move with care and find synchronicity with her breath. Practice by practice her physical pain dissipated and yoga become not only her physiotherapy, but her psychotherapy too. The newly created space in her body allowed for greater emotional space to process her loss.

Yoga has held that space for Lisa time and time again since she first stepped on her mat, dealing with all that life delivers.

Lisa dedicates every practice were she moves her body and feels her breath to those that no longer can.

Experiencing the profound impact that yoga had on Lisa’s life she decided that she wanted to give back and in 2015 started her 200hr yoga teacher training. Lisa now teaches community style yoga classes and corporate yoga classes part time along side her busy full time job in Special Educational Needs.
