Meet local community pharmacist and mum-to-be Niki 💙
Niki's had her flu jab to protect both herself and her baby this winter.
"The flu vaccine is safe at every stage of pregnancy, and getting vaccinated gives me peace of mind knowing I’m reducing the risk of serious illness for both of us".
With colder months ahead, it’s more important than ever for pregnant women to protect themselves and their babies.
The flu can lead to serious complications, including pneumonia and pre-term birth.
If you’re expecting, speak to your GP, midwife or local pharmacy about getting your flu vaccine.
We’re welcoming our very first volunteers to be a part of the brand-new Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals 💚
Volunteering starts Spring 2026 - and we’re recruiting now for:
🟢 General Volunteers - greet visitors, offer refreshments, help with light gardening, or simply be a friendly face in our calm, supportive space.
💆 Complementary Therapists - use your therapy skills (massage, reflexology, aromatherapy etc.) to help support people living with and beyond cancer.
This is your chance to make a difference from day one - helping shape a warm and welcoming environment for those affected by cancer 🌿
October is Black History Month, and this year’s theme is ‘Standing firm in power and pride’ which is a tribute to the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community. It highlights the profound contributions made by Black people throughout history. Whilst also looking forward towards future of empowerment, unity, and growth.
We are celebrating with a series of podcasts from several Black colleagues speaking about their lived experience. We hope these podcasts will increase understanding, foster good relations, and inspire our Black colleagues to stand firm in their own power and pride and reach for every opportunity they can.
Our first guest is Bart Nyathi, one of our talented nurses in ED who qualified in September 2024 having first started at the trust as a healthcare support worker.
Affinity Water will be working between the junctions of Hardwick Lane and Guildford Road. This will start on Saturday 18th October 2025 and will continue for approximately 2 weeks.
There will be temporary traffic lights in place on Holloway Hill.
Please allow extra time for your journey.

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest provider of acute hospital services in Surrey and serves a population of around 415,000 people across North West Surrey and parts of Hounslow.
We provide a whole range of services across our two hospital sites - Ashford Hospital, Middlesex and St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey.
The majority of planned care, like day case and orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation services, is provided at Ashford, with more complex medical and surgical care and emergency services at St Peter's. Both hospitals provide a wide range of outpatient clinics.
Our specialist services include orthopaedics, cardiology, vascular services, bariatric surgery and neo-natal intensive care. The Trust works hard to ensure quality remains our top priority and we have been rated overall as 'Good' by the Care Quality
Commission, following a full inspection of our hospitals in December 2014 and follow up inspection in February 2017 - great news for local patients.
The Trust has been nominated as a top 40 hospital by CHKS (a national provider of healthcare intelligence) based on a number of important quality and safety indicators for five years running. We have also recently been reported as one of the top performing hospitals nationally for hip fracture care and have seen much improved results in the latest NHS Staff Survey.
See our website at www.asph.nhs.uk for more details on our services and the Trust.
