Yesterday, Aaron's client, C, headed off to Lord's Cricket ground to watch Middlesex play Derbyshire, as part of a Dementia friendly initiative offered and run by the Alzheimer's Society.

The day offers an accessible space for those living with Dementia, as well as their carers, to enjoy the social aspect of cricket, being outdoors and taking part in what they may once have considered a "normal" outing.

C's son has sent us some photographs of the day and they have made us incredibly happy 💚

We are hugely grateful to all involved and cannot wait to tell you more!

When a grandparent is living with dementia, it can be confusing and emotional for younger family members.
But with the right support, children can still enjoy meaningful moments with the
people they love.

Here are a few simple ways to help:
👂Use honest, age appropriate language
🖼Focus on shared activities like looking at photos or reading
together
😊Reassure them it’s the condition that’s changing – not the
person they love
🎶Celebrate the little moments of joy, a smile, a song, a hug

Talking openly helps children stay connected and builds empathy for life.

On Sunday 7th September at 3pm, the UK Government will be testing Emergency Alerts on mobile phones across the UK.

What the test will look and sound like:

An emergency alert looks and sounds very different to other types of messages you might receive on your phone. You’ll hear a loud, siren-like sound and your phone or tablet will vibrate - it should last approximately 10 seconds.

If you have a vision or hearing impairment, audio and vibration attention signals will let you know you have received the test.

Whilst these alerts aim to protect the public in emergencies, they could put victims of domestic abuse at risk, especially those who rely on hidden phones as part of their safety plan.

Please know, you CAN opt out of this test.

If you know of older neighbours who have a mobile phone who may not know about the testing, who may feel stressed or who may be vulnerable, please support them.

If you need to disable alerts for safety reasons, follow the steps here:

When we say that we are a family operated business, we also mean that we are one big family. Everyone has a role to fulfil and these two sweet future team members, are already pitching in and we love it!

Often at local fairs, especially over summer, you will see and meet some of our “junior team”…say hi!

Our wonderful Sam was On Call this weekend. One of our Care Pros was so busy caring on Sunday that she didn't have time to cook. This was no problem for Sam. She dropped Mary a full roast dinner.

Nothing is too much trouble for our Sam. Shes a super star xx💚
