Job description
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and dynamic Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our iLympho Laser programme team at the AJLyon Vascular Clinic, based in Woking area.
This is a very exciting programme with exposure to a state-of-the-art treatment for leg swelling, lymphoedema and lipoedema that is unique in the country. A certificate of experience will be provided.
You will be required to work for 6-10 hours per week (Tuesday 16:00-20:00 and Friday 12:00-20:00) based at a private hospital(s) in Surrey.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1- setup equipments for the Laser, Ultrasound and Massaging Therapy.
2- Assisting patients in taking a safe position on treatment room.
3- Take measurements from legs and arms as required.
4- Assisting our physician in providing the Laser programme.
5- Help in documenting measurements and outcome.
6- Ensuring high standard of hygienic care to equipments pre and post usage.
7- Any additional assistant needed within the programme as expected from HCA.
It is possible to commit to certain days/weeks within a group of HCAs supporting the programme.
QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 12 months Healthcare experience
• Right to work in the UK
• References covering last 3 years of clinical employment
• Overseas Police Check, if any
• Indemnity Insurance
• Up to date CV
• Key skills: Compassion, Time management, Clinical Skills

Mr Abdullah Jibawi is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon with a specialist experience and interest in the management of varicose veins (from very large to tiny thread veins), aortic aneurysm disease, difficult to control lymphoedema, complex wounds (using special approaches such as fish skin), and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Mr Jibawi has designed and presented new innovative classification systems for varicose veins based on their complexity. Being a medical Artist, Mr Jibawi pays special attention to the aesthetic side of varicose veins treatment. The selection of treatment will take all such factors into consideration.
Mr Jibawi has a long experience in treating aortic aneurysms using key hole surgery. He has gained this from his work in top UK centres and with world-renowned scientists, surgeons and interventional radiologists. With his background in mechanical engineering, physics and mathematics, Mr Jibawi has special experience in how to choose the most appropriate graft design that fits complex anatomy and that provides the best immediate and long term outcome.
Mr Jibawi’s current theme of interest is thrombolysis for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), stroke patients and clots in arteries and grafts elsewhere.
Mr Jibawi is also a specialist in hernia surgery, both open and laparoscopic. He performs lumps and bumps surgery, with a special attention to the aesthetic and functional aspects of this surgery.
Mr Jibawi was awarded a Doctorate Degree (D.M) for his academic work on developing better methods in improving outcome in vascular surgery, a joint work between University of Brighton, Sussex and Oxford, and authored a book ‘Current surgical guidelines’ published by Oxford University Press in 2010, which was featured in the British Journal of Surgery, and now in its 2nd edition.
Oxford handbook Current Surgical Guidelines is a comprehensive evidence-based summary of guidelines, presented concisely and supported by hundreds of tables and algorithms. Featured in the BJS. February 2011. 2nd edition is published in 2018.
Mr Jibawi enjoys fine art, poet writing, and a variety of sport activities (football, martial art, etc.) on a weekly basis.
Since 2013, Mr Jibawi has been practising as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Jibawi serves on the board for vascular surgery and is an instructor and examiner to FRCS candidates in the UK and abroad.
