Tonight was a special one — Shannon was recognised as a finalist for Carer of the Year, and we couldn’t be more proud. It couldn’t have gone to someone more deserving. Her kindness, reliability and the way she looks after every client truly sets the standard.

We’re incredibly lucky to have Shannon as part of Visiting Angels.

And what a lovely way to end the conference this evening.

We’re creating our very first Visiting Angels Moments That Matter calendar — celebrating the heart of care in our community.

We’re inviting you to send us a photo that captures what care means to you — those moments of kindness, compassion, or connection that make a difference every day.

Details:

12 winning photos will feature in our 2026 calendar

The overall winner will receive £100 and their image will be featured on the front cover

Donations will go to Dementia UK

Entries open 10th November and close 24th November

Winners announced 1st December

🕊️ Remembrance Sunday 🕊️

Today, we join our community in a moment of reflection and gratitude — honouring all those who served and sacrificed so that we may live in peace and freedom.

At Visiting Angels South Bucks, we are proud to care for a generation who remember those times first-hand. Their stories remind us daily of the courage, resilience, and love that define true service.

We will remember them. ❤️

Don’t forget — the clocks go BACK this weekend!

This Sunday (26th October), the clocks go back one hour as we say goodbye to British Summer Time.

That means an extra hour in bed — or a little more time for a warm cuppa and a cosy morning! ☕🛏️

It’s also a great reminder to:
✅ Check on older neighbours or loved ones who might find the change confusing
✅ Make sure timers, alarms, and heating are set correctly
✅ Take a few moments to rest and recharge

These pocket-sized cards are a simple but powerful tool for our care team — giving them instant reminders while out and about, covering everything from mental capacity to basic life support.

Originally created by one of our sister offices, they’re a brilliant example of how Visiting Angels offices across the UK support one another — sharing ideas, resources, and best practice to ensure we all deliver the highest quality care to our clients and communities. 💙

Out in the Community with Visiting Angels Buckinghamshire

Shannon and Lisa have been out and about this week in Amersham, Chesham and Great Missenden, visiting local cafés, pharmacies and community hubs to share our Winter Wellbeing Packs and spread a little warmth this season.

They’ve loved meeting residents, chatting about how we support older adults to stay safe, well and independent at home — and connecting with the wonderful people who make our local towns so special.

We’re always happy to stop for a chat about care, companionship, or just to brighten your day.

A huge congratulations to Liz, our Carer of the Month for August! 🎉
(Announced a little later than planned – but so well deserved!)

Liz has gone above and beyond, showing incredible dedication to her clients and stepping in to take on extra throughout August – even working with us during her summer break from her school job. Her kindness, commitment, and positive energy always leave a lasting impact on the people she supports. 💙

Our clients have already said how much they’ll miss seeing Liz every day – and we can’t wait to welcome her back at half term!

What an amazing day we had at the World Walks Against Dementia in Chesham! 💙

The Visiting Angels Buckinghamshire team loved taking part and walking alongside so many wonderful people in support of such an important cause.

A special thank you to our amazing Angels, Shannon and Lauren, for representing Visiting Angels on the day – you both did us proud!

Huge thanks as well to Cllr Aamna Ahmad for organising this incredible event and to everyone who joined us. Your support helps raise vital awareness for dementia and means so much to the families we care for.

Together, we can keep making a difference and continue walking united against dementia.

💜👟 We’re walking for dementia! 👟💜

Join us this Sunday 7th Sept in Chesham for the World Walks Against Dementia 2025.

We’ll be walking through Lowndes Park and then heading to Chesham Town Hall for refreshments, chats, and local dementia support.

Come say hi at the Visiting Angels Buckinghamshire stand – we’d love to see you there! 💜

Chesham - World Walks Against Dementia 2025

Sunday - 7th September from 10.30am. Meet us near the toilet block in Lowndes Park.

Join us as we walk together to raise awareness and show support for those affected by dementia.
Please wear purple or blue, and help us spread the message that no one has to face dementia alone.
“Whether you’re worried about your memory, have recently received a dementia diagnosis, or are caring for someone with dementia, you don’t have to face this journey alone.” – Dementia Support Bucks.

It will be a short walk starting at Lowndes Park and ending at Chesham Town Hall. After the walk, please enjoy tea and coffee, and connect and hear from professionals and others in the community.

A New Little Angel Has Arrived!

We’re delighted to share some wonderful news – our Manager, Lisa, has welcomed her beautiful new baby into the world! 💕 Both mum and baby are doing well, and we couldn’t be happier for her and her family.

At Visiting Angels Buckinghamshire, we know that care is at the heart of every family moment – from the very first days of life through to supporting our loved ones as they grow older. Lisa has always poured her heart into caring for others, and now she gets to experience this special new chapter of family care herself.
