Grab a coffee, this is quite a long read βοΈπ
Why I became a Reflexologist π£π
My curiosity got the better of me!
Back in 2006 when I was working as a carer in a home for blind and partially sighted residents, I witnessed the power of touch. βοΈ
Observing how totally blind people navigate their way around their home, without any injury was inspiring.π€
Feet and hands became their guides.
When someone was scared or anxious, the simple act of hand holding and gentle rubbing had a profound calming reaction.π
I remember getting a bowl of soft snow one wintery day, and gently helping a lady to put her hands in to touch it. βοΈ
She had been born blind, and had never had the pleasure of seeing or playing in the snow. π
Aged 98, feeling snow for the first time. Her smile spoke volumes, and she giggled alot. ππ
I needed to learn more and enrolled on my first Reflexology course with the British School of Yoga.π©βπ
This course was amazing, and fuelled my growing desire to one day be a qualified Reflexologist.
I was fascinated by the history and the research. Evidence of pain relief, hormone balance without the need for medication? Wow...π
Fast forward to 2023. After many years working in health and social care, I needed to explore this therapy in more detail and enrolled with the British School of Reflexology in London. π
I left a full time job thats was draining me of energy due to an exhausting daily commute.
π π₯±
A life changing decision, I decided to work part time while I studied. π
After completing over 150 treatments and case studies, completed an exam in anatomy and physiology, I once again qualified. π
Blue Bell Reflexology was born π π£
If you want to know why I chose this name for my small business, head over to my website to learn more. π
I am incredibly proud of myself for making that leap!
Never look back.
Keep going forward πͺ β¨οΈ
Best decision ever. π
I get to meet so many different people, made some wonderful friendships along the way, and continue to learn and strengthen my skills π
Don't be afraid of change and always try to do something that makes you happy, and puts you slightly out of your comfort zone!! π
