Boutique Care Home Culwood House was established as a small residential care home in 1988. All our bedrooms are en-suite and basically furnished.

It is a two storey Victorian building situated in the beautiful countryside of the Chilterns, 5 minutes drive from Chesham town centre. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to accommodate 19 persons who require nursing or personal care. Although we are a residential care home, we are able to manage extra care needs such as Dementia and sensory loss. We encourage our residents t

o personalise their rooms. Our residents have access to a communal lounge, dining room and conservatory as well as a large garden and Summerhouse. We have two specialist bathrooms and a nurse call bell system is located throughout the home. Due to the smaller size of the Home, we feel we are able to offer a warm, homely environment to our residents. We believe this also enables our Carers to build closer relationships with our Residents and cater for their needs on a more personal level.

Thank you to everyone who came to our sparkling Easter afternoon tea and Easter egg hunt. It was a really enjoyable afternoon relaxing and listening to Yuri’s wonderful singing. We had an eggcellent time 🐣 🐰

We’ve had a wonderful afternoon celebrating David and Anne’s 70th wedding anniversary with them. Apparently, only 20 to 30 couples a year celebrate a platinum anniversary in the UK, so it’s lovely to see it’s recognised by the King and Queen.

Margaret Ursula Mee lived at Culwood House and this is a very interesting short video about her life. She was a British botanical artist who specialised in illustrating plants from the Brazilian Amazon forest. She was awarded an MBE for services to Brazilian botany in 1976 and recognised for her environmental achievements by the United Nations Environment Programme in 1990. Most of her illustrations are now part of the Kew Gardens collection.
