Here at The Soul School we work with the Five Elements to restore balance and flow within the body. Experiments have shown that these meridiens are the paths your energy follows.
Spring is the time of the Wood meridien - so let’s explore…
Core Meaning of the Wood Element
Essence: Growth, movement, vision, direction, expansion
Organs: Liver (Yin) & Gallbladder (Yang)
Season: Spring
Emotion: Anger (but also justice, drive, courage)
* Wood energy is like a tree: it pushes upward, breaks through obstacles, and seeks purpose
* It governs your ability to:
* Plan your life
* Make decisions
* Assert boundaries
* Move forward
When balanced → visionary, decisive, motivated
When blocked → stuck, frustrated, explosive or shut down
⸻
Trauma Patterns in the Wood Element
Wood trauma is often about blocked movement + lost direction.
Common roots:
* Childhood control, restriction, or helplessness
* Environments where you couldn’t express anger or say no
* Living through conflict, chaos, or powerlessness
How it shows up:
* Feeling stuck but internally restless
* Swinging between:
* Rage
* Shutdown
* Chronic tension (jaw, neck, shoulders)
* Hypervigilance or “ready to act but can’t move”
Emotional Meaning
(Shadow vs Gift)
Shadow (imbalanced Wood):
* Anger → rage, resentment, irritation
* Control issues or rigidity
* Indecision / lack of direction
* Feeling powerless or blocked
Anger here is not “bad”—it’s a response to injustice or suppressed power
⸻
Gift (balanced Wood):
* Healthy anger → boundaries + courage
* Clear vision & life direction
* Leadership, action, purpose
* Flexibility + resilience
👉 At its highest, Wood becomes:
* Kindness, generosity, and purposeful action
