Long time no speak...
Things have changed here! I have spent this week at my new job in the corporate world. It's been a big adjustment, and my routine has completely changed. But change is a good thing, and I have to do what feels right for myself.
After being a full-time yoga teacher for the best part of 3 years (teaching for over 6!), the struggle was really getting tough. Being self-employed comes with a lot of ups and downs.
The inconsistency of classes means you never know what your money situation will be each month. Lots of hard work can be put into running an event only for it to be cancelled due to low numbers. If you're sick or on holiday, you don't get paid. Your schedule varies each week, so you never really know what you are doing.
And to be honest, I'd just had enough. I was beginning to lose the love for yoga, and that is something I never ever wanted to happen. So I made the decision to switch to a full-time employed job. This way, I can keep a few classes and really give them my full attention and love.
It may seem sudden, but this plan had been in motion for over a year, and I'm really excited to explore a new path and use my skills in a completely different role.
I want to say a huge thank you to anyone who has joined a class, workshop, event, and retreats over these wonderful 6+ years! I'm so grateful to have been able to teach for a long as I have, and to have had such wonderful opportunities come my way. Plus, meeting such a varied bunch of people who have become firm friends along the way π©·
So much love to you all! β¨οΈβΊοΈπ«Άπ»
