Kirsty Myatt Massage Therapies I have been qualified as a massage therapist since 2004. I continue to study to ensure that my skills and knowledge are up to date, safe and effective.

The stones I use to massage are basalt stones, a common volcanic rock which have a high iron content which retains heat. They are an excellent massage tool and effective for remedial and relaxation purposes. If I am addressing a specific issue, I can use a combination of hot stones and cupping therapy to offer you a more powerful and beneficial treatment. Alternatively, you may want to simply rel

My happy place after an exhausting 29.5 hours, walking the 100km Thames Path from Putney to Henley.

It was such a relief to rest my feet and receive a 10 min massage. Therapists were available at both the 50km and 100km marks, and I made sure to take full advantage of their expertise.

The Thames Path Ultra Challenge offers participants the chance to walk or run various distances along the scenic Thames River, with options ranging from 25km to 100km.

These events are brilliantly organized, with teams of amazing people to support you along the way. I’m always in awe of how seamlessly they run, despite the vast number of participants.

You also get to meet some fabulous people along the way. We hit the jackpot during the night stretch, meeting a gentleman named Dee. We walked together, supporting each other until daylight, keeping our spirits high and making those toughest hours feel lighter.

If you are considering setting yourself a challenge, there are so many events to participate in. So, start small and give it a go, you’ll be amazed what you can achieve. But be warned, these events are addictive! I’m calling it a day on any challenge with triple digits, but I’ll be searching for my next one soon.

I’m pleased to announce that oncology massage is now available as part of my massage practice.
Special thanks to all volunteers in the case studies, and extra thanks to Dally Gill for modelling for my website.
This gentle, specialized form of massage is tailored for individuals with a current or past cancer diagnosis, thoughtfully considering the physical, emotional and medical impacts of cancer and its treatment.
Each session is designed to encourage relaxation and support balance for both body and mind.

Recently I have encountered more clients who have a history of cancer.
This led me to undertake training with the Mulberry Centre to qualify in oncology massage.
The course equips therapists with knowledge and factual evidence to dispel myths about treating clients with a cancer diagnosis and how to adapt treatment in response to the side effects of cancer and its medical treatments.
To complete my certification I am looking for 3 people who would be willing to be a case study for me and who are able to fulfil the following criteria;

* If you have recently been diagnosed, currently undergoing treatment or have a history of cancer

* Available to receive 4 sessions. Ideally each session will not be more than 2 weeks apart (Length of session times will vary with each individual, allow approx. 60mins)

* Able to have treatment between the hours of 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday

* Able to provide feedback on the treatment given.

* Each session will be charged at a reduced rate of £30

Great weekend hosted by Chris Pohowsky and Clare Goddard, from Advanced Trainings, on how to work with the head, neck and jaw to reduce pain and balance neck function. It's always good to get back in a classroom and learn face to face from highly skilled therapists who have honed their skills in the techniques being taught. There is also the benefit of receiving the work and understanding the sensitivity and depth of touch needed to make this work effective. I'm looking forward to gradually putting this in to my practice and being able to share the benefits with you.
