Looking for a calm, welcoming place to move, relax, and enjoy the water at your own pace? Birtley Community Pool offers a range of gentle, low-impact activities designed to suit all abilities.
🕗 Quieter Swimming Times
For a more relaxed swim, visit us Monday–Friday 8:30am–12:30pm, when all three of our pools are open for public swimming.

🚶 Walking in Water
Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:30am–1pm
A self-guided, low-impact session suitable for all abilities.
💪 Aqua-Intro
A gentle, joint-friendly 60-minute session led by qualified physiotherapist Jason Metcalfe.
Ideal for beginners or anyone wanting to improve mobility, strength, and confidence in the water.
📅 Thursdays 7–8pm
☕ Aqua-Social
A relaxed, self-led but supervised 60-minute session in the improver pool – perfect for self-guided physio exercises and socialising.
📅 Mondays 10:30-11:30am
✨ Includes a free hot drink, so come for a cuppa, a chat, and maybe a dip in our warm water!
