Natural Nutrients was created in 2012 by Personal Trainer and aspiring Nutritionist Liam, who became disgruntled with the lack of natural supplement companies available to his clients. Trading successfully began in 2013 and from day 1 we became one of only a handful of "clean" supplement companies developing and retailing effective, natural supplementation in the UK. We hoped to fill a gap in the market and offer the more discerning customer a cleaner, natural supplement that doesn't contain artificial fillers, bulking agents or GMO ingredients - and we certainly feel like we've been able to do that successfully so far! As we develop and grow we have ambitious plans to develop several new-to-market and innovative supplement and nutritional food products that are specifically designed to improve your health, enhance exercise performance and support a healthier overall lifestyle. Fancy baking up a storm with our Blueberry Protein Doughnuts recipe?! 🫐🍩

This delicious recipe gets you 12 doughnuts and takes just 30 minutes to make!

👉🏻Ingredients:
180g all-purpose flour
45g Natural Nutrients vanilla whey protein powder
1 tsp. baking soda
75g fresh blueberries
100g coconut sugar, packed
4 tbsp. maple syrup
150g mashed blueberries
2 large eggs
125ml unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp. coconut oil, melted

- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and spray a doughnut pan with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
- In a large bowl, whisk coconut sugar and maple syrup. Add mashed blueberries, eggs, and almond milk. Stir until well combined.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Add melted coconut oil and stir again until fully incorporated.
- Fill each doughnut mould generously.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Do not leave in the pan too long, as they will continue to bake and may become dry.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

We’ve never really told the full Dragons’ Den story..

Back in 2017, We ended up on Dragons’ Den.

Even typing that still feels surreal.

We didn’t apply. We got approached by the producers and thought... why not?

We went down to Manchester to audition… with absolutely no idea what we were walking into.

Fast forward a few months and we’re stood backstage as the final pitch of the entire series.
No other businesses. Just us.

The nerves were unreal. Genuinely.
Big shoutout to the make-up artist who clearly saw the panic in our eyes and basically became our unofficial therapist for 20 minutes.

Then the doors opened.

For the first 10–15 minutes, it felt less like a pitch and more like an interrogation.

Relentless questioning.

At one point I remember thinking:
“This is the worst decision ever”

Then Touker said:
“I’m out.”

And honestly… our stomachs dropped.

But then something shifted.

Deborah started talking about the quality of the products.
The brand ethos.
The long-term thinking behind it.

She made an offer.
Jenny followed.

Peter Jones then got very animated about a loan structure we had in place (fair enough 😅)… before basically saying he wanted to back us anyway.

Then Tej Lalvani made an offer.

As the owner of Vitabiotics, having someone of that calibre see value in what we’d built meant a lot.

Suddenly we’re being sent to the wall to “have a think.”

We somehow agreed a deal with Peter and Tej.

Madness.

In the end, the deal didn’t complete afterwards because of the existing investment structure we had in place.

But honestly?

The experience was unreal.

After filming we got to meet the Dragons properly.
All genuinely decent people.

And yes… Peter Jones really is that tall in real life.

We got the train back up to the North East afterwards.

Exhausted, Buzzing, stunned.

Just trying to process what had just happened.

More than anything, it reinforced something we’ve always believed:

If you build something properly —
With quality.
With integrity.
With long-term thinking.

It gets noticed.

Even under the harshest lights.
