In reality, you’re likely to get the right care quickly by using the best service to meet your need.

This winter, we are encouraging people to use the most suitable service at the right time and keep emergency services free for those who need them most.

• NHS 111 – Available 24/7 by phone, online, or via the NHS app for urgent advice and guidance.

• Online GP service – Avoid the 8.00am phone queue by sending requests through your practice’s website.

• Pharmacy – Get advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, plus oral and emergency contraception and some prescription medicines.
