Sue Vidler Bach Flower Remedies Practitioner

Sue Vidler Bach Flower Remedies Practitioner Welcome to my page, I am so glad you’ve found me! I’m a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner

Dr Bach’s 38 Remedies act on your emotions and are a natural way to restore your emotional balance when you are struggling to cope with life’s problems. Many people have heard of Rescue Remedy, a combination of 5 Bach Flower Remedies known for their calming effect on nerves in emergencies, and often used by students before exams and interviews. Bach Flower Remedies can help you to maintain a positive emotional outlook when coping with caring responsibilities, the shock of redundancy, the emotional roller-coaster of pregnancy, the journey through bereavement, adapting to new ways of living and more. If you are finding life difficult at the moment I am happy to discuss with you how Bach Flower Remedies can help bring enjoyment and a sense of emotional wellbeing back into your life. As a professionally qualified and fully insured Practitioner with an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), I offer Consultations by Phone for individual Clients and run Workshops (online) on how Bach Flower Remedies can help you.

New Year – new beginning?

As the hustle and bustle of Xmas and New Year fades we look forward to what 2026 will bring.
At the moment it’s dark winter clouds, snow and ice– great for kids (big and small!) wanting to sledge and throw snowballs! Not so good for those of us who feel the cold and want to snuggle up in the warmth inside.

January in the New Year could be a wonderful new beginning for you – that’s what New Year Resolutions are about. If you are anything like me it’s not the making of New Year Resolutions that’s the problem – it’s keeping them past the first few days!

Whatever your ambitions are for 2026, Bach Flower Remedies can support you emotionally and keep you on track to achieve them.

Why not come along on a Monday lunch time for a chat with me to see how Bach Remedies can help you achieve your aims this year?

**Chat about Bach** free drop in every Monday (except Holidays) between 12 midday and 2pm in Room 108 Mile House, Chester le Street, Durham. No need to book just come along any time between 12 and 2pm and meet me in my Therapy Room.

Whatever’s stressing you out Bach Flower Remedies can support you through it emotionally.

Have you noticed the shift in general awareness to the notion that what goes on with our physical health is often an outcome of our emotions? Dr Bach was not alone in recognising this over 90 years ago, Ancient Greek philosophers were of a similar mind.

I'm feeling optimistic (positive Gorse!) that Dr Bach’s insights in the 1920’s are now echoing into the medical world. Reading an interview on the weekend In The Times by Antonia Hoyle with Chatterjee, until recently a GP in the NHS, his enthusiasm and experience with patients is engaging and encourages more people to change their perception on how to manage their own health in a healthier way.

He said “80 to 90 percent of what we see as doctors is in some way related to our collective modern lifestyles” and that while medication can “at best” alleviate symptoms of conditions such as depression and chronic pain, “it doesn’t get to the root cause”. (Peeling the layers in Bach terms).

Dr Chatterjee goes on to say that "the number of prescriptions that we give out as doctors has increased by over 80 percent in the last 20 years". He also mentioned that while with any illness "of course there may be a physical cause, there's also a huge link between childhood trauma, highly stressful lives, anxiety and chronic pain, because your nervous system doesn't feel safe. So one way your brain deals with that is to generate pain."

For me, his words illustrate how Bach Flowers continue to be as important today as ever. No prescribing, no diagnosing. As advocates of Dr Bach’s legacy of the 38 Bach Flowers, we all have our own experiences of how the flowers have helped to recalibrate our thoughts and feelings and help us understand more about ourselves too. Whether as an independent system, or integrated with other allopathic or complementary modalities. The Bach Flowers are simple and effective self-help or we can reach out to a Bach practitioner if we want guidance on identifying the flowers that we need in that moment. We can even grow our own Bach Flowers!

What stories would you like to share on how Dr Bach’s work has influenced your life? What questions do you have about the Bach Flowers?🌺

Dr Chatterjee has a methodology, which includes daily exercise, healthy food, reflecting and breathing (also reminiscent of Dr Bach and Heal Thyself), for helping his patients to overcome their illnesses, and has written about this in his new book Happy Mind, Happy Life.🌺

The shock of serious news, the loss of someone dear, the fright following an accident and such like. For those who for a time refuse to be consoled this remedy brings comfort.' “Why you might need Dr Bach’s Flower Remedies during Xmas….”

Each of the 38 Bach Flower Remedies has an indication for a negative emotion. As a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner, I listen to my Clients describe how they are feeling.

Bach Remedy Cerato is indicated for indecision and lack of trust in your own judgement, as in this example –
“Angela usually goes to her parents’ house for Christmas. But this year she’s been asked to go away with friends. She’d love to but she doesn’t like disappointing her parents. She can’t decide what to do and keeps asking other people what they think.”

Her negative emotion? ……… Doubting her own judgement, making her indecisive.
Bach Flower Remedy indicated? ………Cerato
Positive outcome? …………Angela finds the courage to trust in her own inner wisdom and to follow it.

If you feel like Angela and worry about trusting your own judgement and are always asking for others’ advice, then Cerato is the Bach Remedy for you!
Take 2 drops in a glass of water and you will find the courage to trust in your decisions.

I am organising a Mini-Workshop during the next few weeks-

Why you might need Dr Bach's Flower Remedies during Christmas.......

Each of the 38 Flower Remedies has an indication for a negative emotion. As a Bach Foundation Practitioner, I listen to my Client tell me about how they are feeling. Bach Flower Remedy Elm is indicated for feeling overwhelmed by responsibility, as in this example -

"Ben agreed to organise the Office Christmas party, but now he feels there's too much to do and he can't cope!"

His emotion? Feeling overwhelmed
Bach Flower Remedy indicated? Elm
Positive outcome? He's willing to ask for help and gets support from others.

So if the preparations for Christmas, whether at work or at home in the family, are too much for you and you begin to feel overwhelmed, don't give up!
Take 2 drops of Elm in a glass of water and within a short while it will raise your mood and you won't be embarrassed to ask for help!

My Story

I first heard of Bach Flower Remedies during a chance meeting in a garden centre with a newly-qualified homeopath. Isn’t it amazing how chance encounters like this can change your life dramatically? I was going through a very stressful time which had forced me to abandon my dreams of a retirement spent travelling the world.

With their emphasis on emotional health the Bach Flower Remedies impressed me and I decided to go on an introductory course to find out more. Initially I didn’t intend to become a Practitioner but after this Level 1 course I was hooked, and went on to complete the Level 2 course and finally the Level 3 Practitioner qualification. The more I learned about Bach Remedies the more convinced I became of their value in maintaining good emotional health and well being.

During 8 years of practice as a therapist I have seen the amazing effect these wonderful Flower Remedies have on clients who are emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed.

However there is more to the Flower Remedies than coping with stress. Bach Flower Remedies act on the whole range of emotions from extreme fear to total apathy. Yes they can calm you down in stressful times but they can also help you make decisions, help you cope with disappointment and gently raise your energy level when you feel unable to cope with the day’s demands.
