The UK’s emergency alert system will send a loud siren, vibration, and message to every compatible phone — even if it’s on silent.

⚠️ Important for survivors of abuse: If you have a hidden phone, this alert could put you at risk if discovered.

👉 You can opt out in your phone’s settings to stay safe:

• Go to Settings → Search “Emergency Alerts” → Turn off Severe & Emergency Alerts

Android
• Go to Settings → Search “Emergency Alerts” → Turn off Severe & Emergency Alerts (and any other threat categories if shown)
