Between us, we are all mums to children with special educational needs. We know first-hand the exhaustion, the worry, the fighting for support, the joy in every small step, and how important it is for families to feel understood rather than judged.

Such a fabulous world book day 🤍✨📚

We spent time exploring stories and bringing them to life through animation, watching characters move and scenes unfold in a completely different way. It was lovely seeing everyone so engaged, sharing ideas and enjoying the creativity that stories can inspire.
A really special day celebrating books, imagination and a love of storytelling ✨

Dragons, shadows and imagination 🐉
From cutting and sticking dragon puppets to bringing them to life through shadow play - lots of communication woven throughout, alongside sequencing, storytelling and exploring ideas together (even the teddy bear was dressed up in dragon costume!)
All through creativity and a little Chinese New Year magic! ✨

A lovely CPD morning 💛
Susan led a fantastic SEND, Engagement & Inclusion session, exploring how music can support connection, communication and inclusion for learners who need it most.
It was amazing to network with teaching staff from lots of schools across the North East, sharing ideas and thinking about how we can work together to better support children and young people.
There was plenty of reflection, a good sing 🎤, and some very yummy cakes courtesy of Gemma - because learning is always better with cake!
Thank you to everyone who came along & can’t wait for the next one on 4th March!

Using music tech on Thursday morning to encourage new learning and support language development 🎶

The children were naturally listening, taking turns, exploring sounds and finding new ways to communicate through play and shared musical experiences.

This week we used stop-motion animation to support sentence structure. For some children, imagination has to be built through doing first.

Creating the sequence physically helps secure first, next, then, finally - making it much easier to turn ideas into clear spoken or written sentences!
