When I was pregnant with my first baby, I did all the things I thought I was supposed to do. I signed up for an NCT course, learned about the stages of labour, and packed my hospital bag — feeling like I was as prepared as I could be.
But when labour started, it was a completely different story. I felt overwhelmed, terrified, and totally out of control. I realised that knowing the practicalities of birth wasn’t enough — I needed something more.
That’s when I discovered hypnobirthing. During my second pregnancy, I went all in — learning how to work with my body rather than fight it. I practiced breathing techniques, visualisation, and relaxation every day. When labour started, I felt calm and in control. My body knew what to do — and I trusted it.
I went on to have two incredible home births where I felt empowered, supported, and strong. Hypnobirthing completely transformed how I viewed birth — from something to fear into something to trust.
That’s why I became passionate about teaching other couples hypnobirthing — because I know how powerful it can be. Birth doesn’t have to be scary — you deserve to feel calm, confident, and in control.
