As a bit of a follow on from last months self care challenge, I thought this worth a share. I’m trying to take a few to heart at the moment with my poor finger! I won’t share an update photo of it as it looks pretty grim 😆

I’m grateful for the fact I can still bake - and eat - cookies even it takes a bit longer. I’m recognising my limits and not trying to rush myself back to work as much as I would love to! It won’t last forever and I’ll be back towards the end of next week.

After having a bit too much fun with an old friend on Friday, I managed to dislocate two joints in my finger (absolutely sober, not a drop of wine involved!).

While I am absolutely thanking the stars for training zero strain massage, I’m sure you can appreciate the need to rest for a few days.

Earlier this year I completed two aromatherapy courses which now allows me to provide aromatherapy as part of my massage service.

💆‍♀️ Self-Care September 💆‍♀️

This one is a bit of a tricky one to massage on yourself. Our shoulders carry so much tension—especially from stress, hunching over screens, or just daily life. Here’s how to give your shoulders some love, or send me a message and get me to do it for you!

✨ Place your right hand over your left shoulder and gently squeeze the muscles, rolling your fingers in small circles.
✨ Work from the base of your neck outward toward your arm.
✨ Switch sides and repeat with your left hand on your right shoulder.
✨ Finish with some slow shoulder rolls forward and back to release what’s left.

It only takes a few minutes, but your body will thank you 🌿💛

Following on from my post last night about leaving Radiography behind, I am THRILLED to have been accepted to start a counselling course next month!

I don’t intend to progress it all the way through to career level, but I know from experience both on and off the couch, a lot can be said when having a massage. It’s a very personal experience and sometimes we share more than we normally would. By doing this course I’ll be learning skills to be able to support clients, and most importantly, be able to signpost clients to other services if necessary.

I’ve received this magazine every quarter for the last 20 years, research and articles about radiography.

This is the last time I will open this.

I’ve decided to cancel my HCPC registration and leave the world of Radiography behind me. It’s been a fabulous career and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been able to explore lots of opportunities within the field, but now it’s time to focus solely on the my new career and life as a massage therapist.

Opening this today after cancelling my membership last week feels quite emotional! Onwards with my new journey now ❤️ 💆‍♀️

Did you know your shampoo routine can double as a self-care ritual? 🫧💆‍♀️ A gentle scalp massage while washing your hair can help boost circulation, ease tension, and even support healthier hair. Here’s how:

1️⃣ Apply shampoo and spread it evenly.
2️⃣ Using the pads of your fingers (not nails!), make small circular motions.
3️⃣ Start at the front hairline and slowly work back to the crown.
4️⃣ Don’t rush — spend a minute or two enjoying the pressure.
5️⃣ Rinse as usual, feeling refreshed from head to toe. 🌿
