Behind every great care team is someone who cares for the carers 💙
To celebrate , we’re shining a light on the incredible Erin — our HR Relationship and Engagement Manager — in a special personal profile.
1. What does your role as HR Relationship and Engagement Manager involve?
Erin: As the HR, Relationship & Engagement Manager at Adada, my role focuses on enhancing both the employee and managerial experience by streamlining processes, reviewing policies, and leading initiatives to improve workplace wellbeing. I manage all employee relations (ER) cases, deliver training to management, and provide ongoing support to the leadership team—including addressing any unique or unexpected queries they may have.
2. What inspired you to work in HR, especially in the care sector?
Erin: Before transitioning into a career in HR, I worked in the care sector—first as a support worker and later as a team leader. It was during my time in that leadership role that I became inspired to move into HR. I witnessed firsthand how gaps in people management could significantly impact both teams and business outcomes. I was always thinking of ways to better support the wider team, and a career in HR gave me the platform to do just that.
With my background in care, I understand the challenges faced by frontline colleagues. I believe effective HR starts with understanding the roles and realities of the people you're supporting, so returning to the care sector after developing my HR skillset felt like a natural and meaningful progression.
3. What do you love most about your job?
Erin: What I enjoy most about my role is the creative freedom to design and implement initiatives that enhance the employee experience. In addition, it’s rewarding to see the impact of my guidance in the growth and confidence of managers as they navigate people management challenges.
4. How do you support the wellbeing and engagement of the care team?
Erin: I do my best to support the wellbeing and engagement of our care team by making sure the right support is in place—like our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and links to helpful charities. I share these directly with the team and also make sure managers have them to pass along when needed.
I always encourage team members to reach out to me if they’re facing any concerns, so I can work with management to find solutions that work for everyone. I’m also always looking for practical ways to support the team, whether that’s through professional development or personal support—like salary sacrifice schemes that can ease financial pressure. I believe small things like that can make a big difference to someone’s day and really help boost morale and engagement.
5. What’s something you think makes our team or company culture special?
Erin: What makes the team and Adada as a whole special is the genuine commitment to improving the care sector through fresh, forward-thinking initiatives. The management team truly cares about their people, and it shows. What stands out is that Adada isn’t just focused on growth for financial success, but on creating an inclusive, supportive workplace where employees feel valued and their lives are positively impacted.
6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Erin: Outside of work, I enjoy staying active with hiking, survival outings, camping, and exploring new cities and experiences. That said, I also really value my downtime—whether it’s catching up with friends and family, enjoying a meal out, or treating myself to the occasional cheeky spa break. For me, it’s all about finding the right balance!
HR plays a vital role in making sure our team feels supported, valued, and empowered every day. Erins dedication helps Adada deliver the kind, person-centred care we're known for.
Thank you, Erin — and to all HR professionals making a real difference in people’s lives, starting with their own teams.
