Sometimes, one of the hardest parts of what we do is saying goodbye 💔

When someone we have cared for passes away, it affects us deeply. Over time, we don’t just become carers — we become part of the family. We share stories, laughter, quiet moments, and milestones. We become a trusted presence, a companion, and a friend 🤍

It is such a privilege to be welcomed into someone’s home, to be trusted with their care, and to walk alongside them through important chapters of their life 🏡✨ That trust is never taken for granted.

While loss is incredibly sad for everyone involved, we also try to hold onto something meaningful — the knowledge that we supported them to live the life they always wanted to live 🌿💛 That we helped bring comfort, dignity, independence, and joy in the moments that mattered most.

We reflect not only on the support we provided to the individual, but also on the care, reassurance, and strength we offered to their family too 🤝💙

💕Likeminded: A Group for People Living with Dementia, by People Living with Dementia
Join LIKEMINDED! Our group is run by individuals living with dementia, for individuals living with dementia. It’s all about mutual support, friendship, and no pressure.
Founded in 2021 by the incredible Teresa Davies, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at 59, LikeMinded is a warm and welcoming space where people come together for tea, coffee, and a good chat.
We’re part of the D.E.E.P (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project) network, and we meet twice a week in Mold.
Join us for arts, crafts, wellness & social activities... and importantly, connect with others living with dementia to increase your support and help raise awareness.
