One of the biggest misunderstandings about meditation is that you’re supposed to “clear your mind.”
That’s not meditation.
That’s frustration.
For most people, when they sit quietly, they discover something uncomfortable:
Their mind is busy.
Very busy.
Thoughts.
Memories.
Plans.
Worries.
And so they assume they are doing meditation wrong.
But what if the opposite is true?
What if meditation is simply the practice of noticing what is already happening?
When you sit quietly and observe your thoughts without trying to control them, something interesting begins to happen.
You start to see that thoughts are not commands.
They are events passing through awareness.
And when you stop fighting them, they often soften on their own.
Meditation is not about achieving a special state.
It is about becoming familiar with your own experience.
That simple shift can change everything.
