The team have been working extremely hard behind the scenes to sort this major issue out. Unfortunately however, there have been cancellations. I’m working closely with the NHS operations team to ensure those affected will be sorted as soon as possible.

Joint operations were postponed after the main supplier suffered a critical incident at its plant.

A humbling day at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Almost exactly five years ago today I performed my first hip replacement as a consultant in a time of lock-downs and uncertainty. Today I had the privilege of performing the same procedure on the opposite side of the same patient. Having that trust placed in me is truly amazing. Nearly 1000 joint replacements later - the confidence is greater, the incisions are smaller and some of the cases are more complex but still, I learn something new every time.
