Reviews like this keep you going as a surgeon. Some days are a struggle and you question if you're good enough.. we often dwell on what we could do better or any complications we have, it's easy to forget the happy patients as we may not see them again. So when reviews like this come through it means a lot 🫶. When I saw it, I joked that my mum could have written it..but that reminded me of something a mentor once said.. 'Each patient is someone's mum/dad/daughter/son/wife/husband etc.. so treat them how you would want someone to treat yours'.

An incredible few days in Munich at the biggest sports knee meeting in the world..hearing from THE Global leaders... one of which is my fellowship supervisor and mentor . Catching up with the other previous Perth Sports Surgery Fellows and other supervisors, and hearing how well they're doing ❤️..Such an inspiring group 💪. But mainly learning about current techniques and concepts about knee joint preservation, cartilage repair, ligament reconstruction, osteotomy and partial replacement.. so i can continue to offer patients in North Wales, Cheshire and Merseyside up-to-date and cutting edge techniques to best treat their knees . 🚀 Back to it tomorrow with a High volume low complexity list at Abergele! 🙌

Shoutout for National fitness day 2025 yesterday. I tell all my patients of the importance of exercise and conditioning - whatever their age or activity level.. whether they have a sports injury, ligament injury or for they require joint replacement. It can play a huge role in injury prevention, preparing for surgery or recovering from injury or surgery. So practice what you preach.. 💪 and thanks to for keeping me on track 🤜. EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

A love affair with robotic assisted knee surgery that started in Auckland on fellowship in 2021 with knee gurus at North Shore has finally come to fruition for me in the UK.

I'm delighted to say I'll be offering robotic partial, total, and bi-compartmental knee replacements at from as early as March this year. .orthopaedicinstruments

I was very fortunate during my training to have some fantastic surgeons help guide me and develop my skills. It was never lost on me that they trusted me with their patients. I think it's so important to help the next generation coming through and help them to be the best they can be for the benefit of us as patients. As they say 'No training today, no surgeons tomorrow'.
So I was incredibly grateful to receive such positive feedback and a very generous gift from a satisfied registrar!

A cold one at Abergele Hospital this morning for my monthly list here 🥶. A tricky journey but didn't want to let the good people of North Wales down! I enjoy coming here for my list each month and North Wales looking particularly lovely in the snow this morning 😍. Now to get the work done ACL and 3 TKR..Let's go team! Hopefully won't get snowed in and stuck here 😬!
