Is your belly fat the real cause of your aches? 💡

We’re often told that as we get older, joint pain is just an “inevitable part of the deal.” But recent data from the UK Biobank, which analysed over 32,000
individuals, suggests the real culprit might be hiding right around your waistline.

The research is clear: as waist circumference goes UP, so does widespread pain in the neck, shoulders, back, hips, and knees.

Why is this happening? It comes down to two main factors:

It isn’t every day you meet an athlete who has graced the pages of every single national newspaper before even hitting double digits. ⁣
But then again, Caden isn’t your everyday athlete.⁣

For the past three months, we’ve had the privilege of having this 10-year-old phenom training within our walls. Today, it’s our absolute honour to name him our Client of the Month.⁣

Karen!!! We’re sooo sorry! Our final client of the month post for 2025 never got posted!!!

Here’s your moment to shine!!! 🎉

🌟 CLIENT OF THE MONTH – DECEMBER 🌟
Meet Karen, our December Client of the Month 💪💙

When Karen found out she’d won, she was absolutely thrilled.

I showed her what usually happens when clients receive this award — the photo, the shout-out, and of course the free UP Strength t-shirt.

Karen smiled… then very politely said:
“I don’t really like those Nike dri-fit tops… would it be alright if I brought my own blue (her fav colour) t-shirt and you put the logo on that instead?”

Now, I won’t lie—this went completely against our brand guidelines! 😅 We had to adapt the logo and tweak the printing just to make it work. But Karen wanted it, and more importantly, Karen deserved it.

Karen shows up. Karen works hard. Karen gives 100% every single session.

When she first walked into UP Strength, Karen struggled to step up onto a single block. Fast forward to today:

She’s confidently conquering the double step.


She’s progressed from wall press-ups to power-packed kneeling press-ups.


She’s tripled her lifting capacity, moving from 1kg to 3kg with ease.


At 86 years young, Karen is the ultimate proof that strength isn’t about the date on your birth certificate—it’s about belief and consistency.
