🌟 It’s Makaton Awareness Day! 🌟

💡 Did you know that more than 100,000 people use Makaton every day to help them communicate? It’s an amazing way of combining speech with signs and symbols so that everyone has the chance to be understood.

At ivolve, we celebrate this through our very own Makaton Monday. Every Monday, our PBS team share a new Makaton word of the week on our colleague intranet, Connect - with videos of our amazing teams demonstrating how to do it.

This year's theme, guided by The Makaton Charity, is Friendship and how Makaton helps build connections between people of all ages and abilities. We've shared the Makaton sign for Friend below. Why not have a go yourself today! 🤝

🏡✨ From a pile of recycled wood to a place full of laughter, BBQs, and friendships…

The Blamsters Cabin in Halstead has become the heart of community life at Blamsters Farm. Built back in 2018, it’s now a thriving hub with a workshop, bowling alley, vegetable patch, and so much more.

For the people we support, the Cabin isn’t just a building - it’s a place to grow in confidence, learn new skills, and feel connected. 💬🌿

It’s also a beautiful example of our Strive model of care in action. 💚

💚✨ Look what Sandal have been getting up to! 💚✨

The ivolve Home Showcase 2025 is underway - with homes across the country transforming their spaces to create Capable Environments as part of our Strive model of support. 🏡🌼

This , we are celebrating Sandal, our residential care home in Wakefield. The team gave their garden a new lease of life by turning worn tyres into bright planters and even a wishing well. Each person supported chose their own colour and flower - from rugby-inspired orange to blooms that reflect personalities - making this project truly personal. 🌈🌸

We love seeing how each home is putting their own stamp on the Showcase. 👀 Keep watching for more reveals from across ivolve in the coming weeks!

⭐ Wednesday Wisdom ⭐

“She’s a completely different person - more confident, independent, and truly living her best life.” - Social Worker

Words like these are why we do what we do. Every day in our homes, we see the small but powerful steps that add up to life-changing progress: a smile of confidence, a new skill mastered, a voice heard, or a dream achieved. 🌱

This young person’s journey shows what’s possible when care is built on kindness, patience, and belief. It shows what happens when colleagues go above and beyond, never giving up, always learning, and always striving to make life better.

We are so proud of the difference our team makes - and so grateful for the people and families who share these stories with us. They lift us up and remind us what care, at its very best, can do. But we won't stop there! 💚

Mondays can feel heavy - but these words, part of a poem written by someone we support at International House about the care they receive there, are a beautiful reminder that even in the toughest times, hope is always possible. 💚

💚 "We're like a big family here.” - Jade at Woodseats Lodge

After years in foster care and services that didn’t meet her needs, Jade arrived at Woodseats Lodge. She was fed up of being misunderstood, feeling used and unheard.

Now, she’s thriving.

Jade has helped make her home feel warm and welcoming for everyone - using her passion for creativity to paint the dining room to creating a handmade “Welcome to Our Home” sign. She even chairs our Strive Together group, making sure every voice is heard.

💬 “Staff actually listen here. If I need help or a chat, they’re just there.”

💬 “It’s not about deciding for people - it’s about deciding with them.”

Today our Strive Together group in Derby came together - including Matthew, a person we support from our residential care home, Derby. He was fab, bringing his voice to the heart of what we do.

We talked about our consent process and about relationships - what they mean, how they’re supported, and how to make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and heard.

There was laughter, deep conversation, and a real sense of shared purpose. Every insight Matthew shared today will help shape how we work going forward.

Co-production is at the heart of our Strive model of support - because we believe the best way to get it right is to work alongside the people who live it every day. 💚

💚 We’re more than a care provider - we’re a community.

At ivolve, kindness, resilience and passion run through everything we do. From supported living homes to specialist residential care for people with learning disabilities, autism and brain injuries, our mission is simple: help people flourish.

Through our Strive model and trauma-informed approach, we create care that’s person-centred and life-changing. In the past year alone, we’ve reduced supine floor restraints by an incredible 97.7% - thanks to our amazing in-house PBS team. 🙌 But this is just the start.

Our care is deeply personal, shaped by lived experience and guided by what matters most to each person we support. That’s the ivolve way.
