- Your mind and body are in conflict...
We live in a world where convenience is king. There's far too much to do and way to little time to do it in. So, processed food and microwaves offer a great solution to a busy lifestyle.
Whilst a ready meal might be all you can be bothered to make after a busy day, believe me, your body does not want it. In fact, it rejects the unhealthy, sugar, fat and salt loaded foods (diabetes, heart disease, obesity). The function of eating is solely for survival and that's it... 🥦SERIOUSLY, YOUR BODY ONLY WANTS NUTRITIOUS FOODS THAT CAN SUSTAINS IT. 🥝
In reality, it is the stressed out, sleep deprived, emotionally suppressed, time constrained mind that wants the 'bad' stuff. Why? Because it believes that these foods will numb your bad feelings. Your mind has no business hijacking the function of eating... 🤯 YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY CRAVING COMFORT FOOD, YOU ARE CRAVING THE NUMBNESS! 🥴
So, when you are feeling stressed, tired, lonely etc. it is best not to head for the fridge (you will never satisfy an emotion with food anyway... IT JUST DOESN'T WORK). Try to distract yourself with an activity that you have to concentrate on. Avoid doing things like watching tv or taking a bath, because these won't occupy your mind. Truly immerse yourself in a thought provoking activity for at least 20 minutes and you will find that those feelings have taken care of themselves... 📖NOURISH YOUR MIND WITH AN ATTENTIVE TREAT. 🧘♀️
