Love is in the air 💘

To kick off Valentine’s week, we started with a game of picture match, giving it a Valentine’s twist by featuring famous couples.

The residents really enjoyed it, and it sparked lots of lovely conversations and reminiscing. Everyone shared memories about who the people were, what they were known for, the jobs they did, and who they married. It was a wonderful way to get everyone chatting, laughing, and remembering together! 🫶🏼

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, good kitchen hygiene standards, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team in a caring environment.

It’s been a busy few days here! 💛

Our residents have loved Motivation Monday, getting active with upper and lower body exercises, followed by a fun game of Bingo!

We’ve also enjoyed friendly games of dominoes and have been busy putting the finishing touches on our Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day decorations!💘

On Friday we celebrated Barbara’s birthday and she had a lovely time. From all of us at Brookholme, happy birthday Barbara, we hope you enjoyed your special day🎉🎁.

Today residents enjoyed a fun game of mini golf, aiming for the different coloured holes to score points.
It was a close competition with a three way tie between Judith, Val B and Edna. After a deadlock round, Judith came out on top and took first place.m ⛳️ 🥇

Another day, another birthday at Brookholme 🎉

Yesterday we celebrated Mary Yvonne’s birthday, from all of us here at Brookholme we hope you had a very happy birthday! 🎂

Alongside the celebrations, residents enjoyed a bit of everything, from balloon badminton and a relaxing read, to dominoes and word searches and even chess.

We also got creative decorating, gluing and sticking Chinese lanterns again, keeping everyone busy and smiling throughout the day 😊

What a lovely day here at Brookholme!

We’ve had not one, but two 90th birthdays today. From all of us here, we’d like to say a huge Happy 90th Birthday to both Hazel and Mavis 🎂🎈

Alongside the celebrations, residents enjoyed getting creative making beautiful Chinese lanterns ready for Chinese New Year, and we rounded the day off by watching an Elvis documentary, which went down a treat 🎶

What started as friendly games soon turned into a little healthy competition today at Brookholme! 😆🎯

We enjoyed a fab competition day playing points bean bag toss and points hoops.

There were plenty of laughs, cheering, and just a tiny bit of competitiveness along the way!🤣

Residents even added up their own scores (with a little help!), keeping minds active as well as bodies moving. It’s been such a fun-filled day, full of smiles and great spirits!

Last Thursday marked Elvis’ birthday, so on Friday we celebrated in true rock ’n’ roll style with an Elvis-themed music bingo!

Songs were played and residents listened carefully, sang along, and guessed the song titles before marking them off on their tickets. It had everyone joining in, with plenty of singing and even a bit of dancing along the way 🕺

Yesterday was a lovely mix of relaxation and fun. We enjoyed a classic film afternoon in the lounge with Cheaper by the Dozen (the 1950 version) for those who fancied a quieter time. Later on, we got active with a game of hoops in the dining room, followed by a game of bingo before dinner to round off the day 🤌🏼.

This last week we’ve been busy celebrating two very special birthdays here at Brookholme.

Gillian and Judith both marked their big days, and we’d like to send a huge happy birthday to them from all of us. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and lovely moments shared to make their celebrations extra special 🎉

We also enjoyed a very competitive game of bowling, which brought lots of fun, friendly rivalry and plenty of laughs along the way. A great week all round, filled with celebrations and good company 🎳✨

Our residents love celebrating the New Year with a cheese board and some sparkling (non-alcoholic) wine 🧀✨

There was so much excitement when the cheese board arrived, with lots of smiles as everyone explored and tasted the different flavours on offer. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, chatting, laughing and enjoying the tast treats together.

Safe to say, the residents thoroughly enjoyed every last bite, leaving the staff very jealous🤣

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our home to yours 🎄

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Day together here at Brookholme, made even more magical by a special visit from Santa who arrived with presents and plenty of smiles all round 🎅🏼

A huge thank you to our amazing staff who gave up their time to be with us over the festive period. Your care, kindness and dedication truly mean the world to our residents and their families!

We also had a fantastic time at our pre New Year’s Eve party, filled with singing, dancing and some very tasty food. The atmosphere was full of laughter and joy and it was the perfect way to see out the year together.✨

We cannot wait to see what 2026 brings for our Brookholme family ✨
