Brookholme Summer Fair ✨☀️

What an incredible Bank Holiday weekend we’ve had and we were even blessed with sunshine!

Saturday’s Summer Fair was a huge success. We had such a fantastic turnout and so many smiles all around.

A massive shoutout goes to our superstar Chantelle. For all her amazing hard work, energy and enthusiasm in bringing all of your ideas to life, we couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

And of course, a big THANK YOU to our wonderful staff who helped make the day so special, to all our residents families for coming over to join us and of course to everyone who kindly donated prizes, you truly made it one to remember! 🥳

Another exciting addition to what’s quickly becoming Games Week here at Brookholme! 🎲🧩

Our residents have been putting their minds to the test with a memory game, matching pictures and recalling the numbers hidden on the backs of the cards. It was great to see so much concentration, laughter and as always, a little friendly competition too!

To make things even more fun Chantelle brought in a brilliant game from home, football darts! ⚽🎯 Everyone enjoyed learning the ropes, taking aim and celebrating each other’s shots🤣

This week has been full of fun and games! ✨

To start us off on Monday we enjoyed a round of points score hoops, colour coordination hoops, and a lively bean bag toss 🎯 there were plenty of laughs and a little friendly competition along the way.

To finish the afternoon we settled down for a good old game of bingo, always a favourite! 💛

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our lovely Pat’s 80th birthday 🥳💛

Pat’s family came together for a big birthday bash in the lodge, and it was filled with everything you’d want for such a special occasion from a delicious buffet to plenty of sweet treats, laughter all around, and of course cake! 🎂✨

Turning 80 is such a fantastic milestone, and we feel so lucky to have been able to celebrate it alongside Pat and her family. Here’s to many more happy years filled with love, laughter and special moments!

Colour, coordination & a whole lot of laughs! ✨🎯

This week Amanda introduced our residents to a bright new game of matching colourful hoops and beanbags to the right coloured cones! 🌈

As you all know we like to add a little sparkle to everything we do… our cones light up, and the beanbags flash! 💡✨ Not only does it get everyone moving and thinking and makes the game extra exciting but also gives our residents a wonderful sensory experience too!

There’s been plenty of giggles, a dash of competition, and some very impressive matching skills.

Who knew brain workouts could look this dazzling? 🪩

Brookholme Birthdays! 🥳🎁

It’s been a weekend full of smiles, laughter, and celebrations here at Brookholme as we marked two very special birthdays for two of our much loved ladies.

On Saturday, we had the joy of celebrating our wonderful Jackie’s 79th birthday. Jackie spent the day surrounded by her loving family, sharing stories, laughter, and making precious memories together. She was spoiled with beautiful cards, thoughtful gifts, and, of course, a delicious cake! 🎂

Then today, we turned our attention to another milestone! Our fabulous Eileen’s 93rd birthday! Eileen’s afternoon was made even more special with a delightful visit in the garden, where the sun joined us in celebration. She was of course treated to a scrumptious cake, it wouldn’t be a Brookholme birthday without a cake!

Two amazing ladies, two wonderful days, and so much love shared🫶

A very big Happy 96th Birthday to Edith! 💐💕

Today we celebrated Edith’s 96th birthday, surrounded by her lovely family!

Edith was showered with cards, love and laughter, and let’s not forget the absolutely amazing birthday cake that stole the show! 🎂✨

Our fantastic little helper Evie took the reins on Friday and put on a wonderful afternoon of fun for your residents!🤩

We enjoyed playing games, doing some colouring and even a few games of our good old favourite, BINGO!

A Returning Visitor 👋

Earlier this month we had the pleasure of welcoming some brilliant young people for work experience. We must’ve made quite the impression, because one of them enjoyed it so much, he decided to come back to volunteer!

It was lovely having him with us again. We spent the afternoon getting creative with mosaics, doing some indoor exercises with the parachute and having some great chats along the way. It’s always special when someone chooses to return and we’re so glad he did! 💬🎨

We’ve been getting creative 🌸✨

Our residents have been enjoying some lovely arts and crafts sessions. Using brightly coloured petals, glue, and a generous sprinkle of glitter (of course!), they created some beautiful floral artwork that really brightened up the room.

We also had a go at rock painting, with staff spending one-to-one time supporting residents to bring their ideas to life. It was a great opportunity for some quiet, focused fun and the results were just brilliant!

It’s always so special seeing our residents getting stuck in and expressing themselves through creative activities 💛
