Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our dear Corina, our amazing Activity Coordinator — but we know it’s only for a little while! 💕

We made a special day for her, to encourage her and remind her of all the beautiful moments and the wonderful work she’s done with our residents. The staff prepared heartfelt words, and everyone shared hugs, smiles, and love.

Corina, we know you’ve got this! 💪 We’re sure God is answering our prayers and guiding you every step of the way.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done — your kindness, your energy, your music, and the joy you’ve brought to everyone here. 🎸 Don’t forget, your guitar is still here waiting for you to come back and make our residents happy again!

Diwali Celebration – 18th October
On the 18th of October, we started celebrating Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. This festival is also celebrated in other Indian religions such as Jainism and Sikhism. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of Dharma over Adharma, light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Diwali is a five-day-long celebration filled with joy, light, and color. People clean their homes and decorate them with flowers, diyas (oil lamps), and rangoli (colorful patterns made on the floor). They also dress in new clothes and enjoy delicious sweets with family and friends. As part of our celebration, we invited our kitchen assistant Gopi, who is from India, to dress beautifully with her daughter for the occasion. We took some lovely photos of them in their traditional clothes to mark the Diwali celebration.

I also spoke with some residents to raise awareness about this wonderful festival and its cultural significance. This month, we also had a Curry Day and we'll celebrate Asian Cultures and Dance on 29th Oct , but we certainly did not forget about Diwali! The residents were truly impressed by the beauty and meaning of this special celebration.🤩🥳🤩

A Lovely Visit from Springbank Care Home

Yesterday, we were delighted to receive a visit from Jayne, the Activity Coordinator at Springbank Care Home. She brought with her a wonderful collection of letters from their residents, hoping to start a pen pal friendship with ours.

Jayne personally delivered the letters, and we all enjoyed a joyful afternoon together filled with singing, fun quizzes, and plenty of smiles. It was a heartwarming experience, and we were proud to share our NAPA certificate with our new friends.

We’re so happy about the lovely connection that has begun between our two homes and look forward to many more shared moments in the future!
