Judith Szadura nee Austin of Hasland has passed away at home on the 1st March 2026 aged 88.

She was born and grew up in Tibshelf and moved to Hasland in the 1960s.

Judith was an Infant School Teacher until retirement. She taught at Bramley Vale for a few years, but spent most of her career at Park Infant School, Shirebrook where she was deputy head.

Judith loved gardening and was able to make plants thrive, her garden was a burst of colour.
As she grew up in her younger years, Judith was involved with activities in Tibshelf Church where she was a Bell Ringer and member of the Youth Club. This is where she met husband Joe and made many dear friends.
She loved visiting Hardwick and visited regularly until her later years. Judith and Joe had a static caravan in Chapel St Leonard for a number of years, but later moved to Shortferry near Lincoln where Joe enjoyed fishing and Judith enjoyed shopping in Lincoln.

Judith regularly attended indoor Curling and Knit and Nat sessions at Homewood and loved being part of the Tibshelf Historic and Civic Society.
Judith was actively involved in Heath Church until her health started to fail and loved being part of the church family.

She was pre deceased by her husband Jozef and leaves son Mark, daughter in law Carolyn and grandson Matthew.

Her funeral service takes place on Thursday 26th March at 11:00 at Heath Church.

Brian Groves of Calow has passed away aged 88 years.

Born in Birmingham he lived locally for 37 years.

After Brian’s National Service he worked as a bus driver, at British Telecom and as a lorry driver until retirement in 1992.

Brian loved football and was an avid Aston Villa fan, steam trains, gardening, Bingo, holidays abroad and Skegness.

He leaves his wife Doris, nephew Paul and partner Sharon, niece Julie and husband Steve, great nieces Millie and Emma and sister in law Jean.

His funeral service takes place on Wednesday 25th March at 10:30 at Chesterfield Crematorium

Mr Paul James Leverton of Wingerworth has passed away on the 27th February, 2026, aged 64.

Born in Sleaford and a resident of the Chesterfield area for 62 years.
Paul was the owner of PK Group, Chesterfield, for 25 years, prior to that, he was a qualified electrician.

He was a very keen footballer and played at the semi-professional level, a big supporter and sponsor of Chesterfield Football Club, loved his music and played in several bands, including The Nutty Boys.

Paul leaves his wife Kay, sons Anthony and James, grandchildren Keira, George and Theo, mum Loretta, sisters Sue and Janet, brother-in-law Stephen sister-in-law Alison, brothers-in-law John and Simon, mother-in-law Joan and Alan.

His funeral service takes place on Tuesday 31st March, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 11.15am

Mrs Glynis Browett of Chesterfield has passed away at home on March 6th 2026 aged 71.

Born in Chesterfield and a lifelong local resident,

Glynis became a hairdresser on leaving school, then worked at Boots Chemist and later was a teaching
assistant at Hady School.

Her interests included reading, line dancing and spending quality time with her family and grandchildren.

Glynis leaves her husband Peter daughters Katy and Lynsey grandchildren Maisie, Elizabeth, Jack and Ben.

Her funeral service takes place on Friday, March 27, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 11.15am

Born at Nether Edge Hospital, Sheffield
Lindsay was a beautician for most of her life.

She loved animals, cinema, shopping, arts and crafts, and doing things with friends. Lindsay leaves her husband Jonathan, children Taylor, Esmè and Oliver, and dad Peter.

Her funeral service takes place on Thursday, March 26th at Chesterfield Crematorium, at 1.30pm
