Clement Alwyn Lee (known as Clem)

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mr Clement Alwyn Lee (known as Clem) of Tapton Chesterfield, aged 98, who passed away peacefully on 25th September 2025 in Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Predeceased by his wife Mavis and niece Jane, he will be lovingly remembered by his great nieces Kelly, Kate, along with their husbands Ryan and Matt, son in law Steve and great great nephew and niece Alex and Esmé and friends.

A life long resident of Chesterfield, Clem worked for 45 years as a joiner for Whittington Engineering Company PLC, until redundancy in 1987, followed by a period of caring for his wife. In his younger years he was a member of the Drum Corps and enjoyed holidays both in the Uk and abroad, keeping canaries and spending time with friends and family.

His funeral service will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium Chapel on Thursday 6th Nov at 10:30am followed by the burial at Brimington Cemetery.

Mrs Audrey Thomas of Hasland has passed away peacefully at home on 3rd October aged 93 years.

Born in Camden, London she moved to Chesterfield as a child and has lived in Hasland for over 70 years.

She worked as a photographic colourist from leaving school and as a midday supervisor at Hasland Junior School until her retirement in 1992.

She loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her home and garden.

Audrey and her husband enjoyed many years of ballroom dancing in their younger days.

She was pre deceased by her husband Gordon and leaves her daughters Sharon and Caroline, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family flowers only please, any donations with for Ashgate Hospice.

Her funeral takes place on Thursday 6th November at 12:10 at Chesterfield Crematorium.

Everyone attending the service is encouraged to wear something pink as this was her favourite colour.

This is one of the hardest moments in Ashgate Hospice’s history.

We are now consulting on proposals to reduce the number of inpatient beds, reshape some of our services and make changes to our team structures.

We never wanted to be in this position. But the NHS funds only 50% of the care it asks us to provide here in North Derbyshire - and despite record-breaking fundraising and the incredible generosity of our community, the gap between what we receive and the true cost of care has simply become too large.

These are heartbreaking choices, but we must act now to protect Ashgate’s future for generations to come.

Mr Robert Johnson of Brampton has passed away aged 82 years.

Born in Chesterfield he lived locally all his life working in the building trade since leaving school retiring aged 65.

He loved Chesterfield Football Club, gardening and metal detecting.

Robert leaves his partner Margaret and step daughter Tracey, granddaughter Carla and his brothers Mick and Chris. Robert was sadly pre deceased by his daughter Debra and great granddaughter Lucy.

His funeral service takes place on Wednesday 29th October at Chesterfield Crematorium at 11:30

Please can all attending where something blue or their Chesterfield FC shirts.
