Support Worker – Supported Living (Two Great Brothers!)
Location: Shirland, Chesterfield
Hours: 8-hour shifts worked on a rota basis, including sleep-ins and some weekend work
Pay:
Hourly rate paid above the National Living Wage
Sleep-in shifts paid at the National Living Wage
About the Role
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and positive Support Worker to join our established team supporting two brothers aged 60+ who share their home in a supported living setting in Shirland, Chesterfield.
Both gentlemen have learning disabilities but are very independent and enjoy living life on their own terms — so this role is less about “doing for” and more about encouraging, supporting, and overseeing so they can continue to live full, happy lives.
Think of it as being part support worker, part cheerleader, and part teammate, helping them keep doing the things they enjoy.
No two days are the same, but your role will focus on supporting them to stay independent, safe, and engaged with their community.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day might include things like:
Administering and recording medication
Supporting trips out into the community
Encouraging and supporting meal preparation
Helping keep the home tidy with light housekeeping
Prompting personal care where needed
Supporting attendance at appointments
Encouraging hobbies, activities, and independence
Being a friendly, supportive presence in the home
Working alongside a great, established team
Important Requirements:
You must be a driver. The gentlemen have access to their own vehicle which is used for community access, appointments, and outings.
Applicants must be aged 25 or over due to the insurance requirements for driving the vehicle.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll fit right in if you are:
Friendly, patient, and easy to get along with
Someone who enjoys supporting people to stay independent
Reliable and happy working as part of a team
Flexible to work 8-hour shifts on a rota basis, including weekends and sleep-ins
Positive, proactive, and approachable
Preferred Experience:
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities would be beneficial, however this is not essential as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
What You’ll Get in Return
Pay above the National Living Wage
Sleep-ins paid at National Living Wage
A welcoming and supportive team
Full training and ongoing support
A role where you can genuinely make a difference
Plenty of rewarding moments along the way
Interested?
If you’re looking for a role where you can support people to live their lives, have a few laughs along the way, and be part of a great team — we’d love to hear from you.
