Is it a bird or is it a plane ?
No it is our Activity coordinator Jayne at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield dressing up again on another of the hottest days of the year this time as Superperson to celebrate World Super Hero Day🦸‍♂️
We also invited our little friends from little Acorns Nursery who came dressed as their favourite super hero🦸‍♂️🦹‍♀️🦸‍♀️🦹‍♂️to celebrate with us and they looked amazing😍
We read some books together as well as colouring in then the children blew bubbles for the residents to catch🖍📚📖🫧
Then it was time for a snack before the children went back for their tea 🍝
We loved seeing our little friends again and hope to see them soon 😍
The residents then chose their own super power with Anne T reminding us that
Not All Super Heroes Wear Capes and to remember all the people who help us everyday
We could not agree more🤩
A very happy Global Intergenerational week was had by us all 👶🧒

We celebrated 2 events today at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care chesterfield 🤩
This morning we made some wind chimes using recycled items such as CDs and plastic cups to decorate our garden as it is National Garden week and Design Day👨‍🌾👩‍🌾🏡🌞
The residents thought they would cheer the garden up but we are waiting for them to dry before we can hang them 🤩
This afternoon a couple of the residents and Jayne our Activity coordinator tidied and watered the garden as it was very warm but we wore suncream and hats to stop getting burnt👒
Our next project in our garden is to make it more sensory and plant some aramatic herbs in pots 🌿
Anne T also finished her own minature bee friendly garden we started for her special day a few weeks ago and she is very proud of it 😍

We celebrated International Dance Day today at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield🩰💃🕺👯‍♀️
It all started a few weeks ago when our Activity coordinator Jayne found a Belly Dancing set in her local charity shop for £1and thought that might come in handy one day and today was the day 🤣🤣
Some not many of the residents were brave enough to have a go and were very good at the hip action🤩
We also had a go at line dancing wearing our stetsons which was a bit more popular🤠👢
To end the session we thought of all the different dances we could think of and guess the country of origin some were very surprising😲
I think next time we may stick to the hockey cokey 😂😂

Today is Tuesday that only means one thing it is our Residents Special Day at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care chesterfield🤩
It was the turn of our Betty who loves to sing she used to be in a choir 🎶🎤
Betty chose a walk out this morning but the weather was not warm or sunny so we decided to wait until the afternoon when it was warmer🌤
While we waited Betty told Jayne our Activity coordinator over a cuppa and a cake all about her time living in Spain near Alicante with her late husband who served in the Indian Army and her love of Spain🇪🇸
She can even speak a little of the lingo🇪🇸
For her special meal Betty selected a roast beef lunch with all the best bits like yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes🥩🥕🥔
Followed by an ice cream sundae🍧
We all hope you enjoyed your special day Betty 😍

Janice our Hairdresser at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield from the 1st of May will be changing her day to visit us from wednesdays to Fridays💇‍♀️

Today we celebrated World Penguin Day 🐧at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield
We learnt some very interesting facts about them and Jayne our Activity coordinator dressed as a Penguin this morning yes on the hottest day of the year so far 🤣🤣
We even treated ourselves to a Penguin biscuit bar🍪
We then made our own Penguins to finish our appreciation of them 🎨👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

Happy Birthday to our most wonderful resident Jean B at Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield who is celebrating her 80th Birthday 🎂🥳🎁🎉🎈🎊
Jean enjoys singing and dancing as well as her great love of chocolate so we have provided all the things she loves for her special day❤️
She will be enjoying an afternoon tea with her friends to celebrate 🫖☕️🧁

Springbank House Care Home - Hill Care Chesterfield have had a busy day today 🤩
We celebrated St Georges Day with a quiz and a patriotic sing song finishing with "God save the King and Jerusalem"🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
We also celebrated world Earth Day with ideas on how we at the home could help save the planet🌏
In the afternoon we retired to the garden and did some tea tasting to celebrate National Tea Day washed down with some specially st George day decorated cup cakes 🧁☕️🫖
