✨ A little discovery from a day trip out to New Mills…

My wife and I went for lunch the other day and came across this lovely little shop front — Sweetmore & Firth. They’re bespoke orthopedic shoemakers who also make orthotic insoles.

Really nice to see a business like this keeping specialist craftsmanship alive. I’ve no affiliation with them other than admiring their frontage and idea — but I thought I’d share as it’s great to see this kind of niche market growing and expanding.

If they’re rubbish, that’s not on me… but if they’re good, I’ll take the credit for pointing you in their direction 😉

💙 A Gift for Gav – Standing Up to Brain Cancer 💙

Our friend Gav Melen, a 35-year-old dad of four 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 from Chesterfield, is fighting Stage 4 Glioblastoma (IDH Wild-Type) — a rare and aggressive brain cancer 🎗️. Diagnosed last year and given just 12 months to live, Gav has refused to give up 💪.

He’s already been through:
🧠 3 brain surgeries
🔬 Radiotherapy & chemotherapy
🌍 And is now receiving life-extending immunotherapy in Germany

Thanks to the incredible support so far, Gav has also started Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) at the OxyHealthCare clinic 🫧 — helping to reduce side effects, boost recovery, and support his treatment protocol. We’re fully behind him 🙌 and proud to stand with him.

But this fight needs more backing — his next immunotherapy block is due 29 June 2025 and costs up to £22,000. There’s no NHS support — just people power.
