We’ve had a materials upgrade! 🎨

Recently, Let’s Connect supported me in applying for a microgrant to help Coffee, Cake,Create continue to grow. I’m so grateful to the wonderful team at Derbyshire Voluntary Action for awarding us two microgrants.
Thanks to this support, with one of the grants we’ve been able to purchase a trolley to make transporting materials easier, along with some new colouring books and lots of colouring pencils.
I’m sure these will be put to great use in our upcoming sessions! 😊

Hi, I’m Laura👋
I’m the founder of Coffee Cake Create — a gentle, welcoming art therapy–inspired group created for people who may be living with PTSD, domestic abuse recovery, anxiety, depression, trauma or any mental health conditions.
I know how lonely and overwhelming life can feel at times, as a DV and SV survivor and an anxiety and PTSD sufferer myself i know how isolating it can be aswell as the struggles these things can bring, I also know how powerful it can be to sit in a safe space, with a warm drink, kind people and something creative in your hands as a distraction or something to look forward to, That’s why I created this group — not as a formal clinical setting, but as a relaxed, supportive community where nobody has to explain themselves unless they want to and you're free to just be you and have somewhere safe to just be.
You don’t need to be “good at art.” You don’t need to share your story. You can simply come as you are.
My approach is calm, compassionate and non-judgemental. I believe in:
• Creating safe spaces
• Listening without pressure
• Encouraging gentle connection
• Letting creativity do the talking when words feel hard
When you walk into one of our sessions, you’ll be greeted with a smile, a brew and a seat at the table. We keep things informal, friendly and respectful. Everyone’s experiences are different, and everyone is treated with dignity.
This group is about connection not perfection and everyone is welcome here.
It’s about rebuilding confidence, one small step at a time, maybe giving you a new hobby if you've lost yourself.
It’s about knowing you’re not alone.
If you’re feeling nervous about coming along — that’s completely normal. Many people do at first. You’re welcome to message me privately before attending, ask questions, or just introduce yourself. I’ll always respond personally.
I look forward to meeting you 💜

Thank you to these lovely people for coming to my first group 🙂 I hope to see you at next month's group 🙂
