The Birthing Coach

The Birthing Coach Hypnobirthing teacher/breastfeeding support. I offer 1:1 courses for birth and breastfeeding.

Hi, my name's Lucy and I live in West Sussex with my husband and 2 children. I empower women to have positive birthing experiences through 1:1 hypnobirthing courses in the local area and over zoom. I specialise in second time mum's who's first birth maybe unfolded in an unexpected way or those who've had a less than positive birth. I also work with women birthing via caesarean to have a calm, fear free birth. Whether it's your first or fifth baby I can help you to have a positive experience.

This simple truth changed everything for me when working with birthing women.

When we see contractions as something happening TO us, we feel like victims of pain. But when we recognise they ARE us - our powerful uterus working exactly as designed - we reclaim our strength.

This shift in perspective is profound. Your contractions aren't an external force to fight against - they're YOUR body doing the incredible work of bringing your baby earthside.

Next time you feel intimidated by the thought of labour intensity, remember: your contractions cannot be stronger than you, because they literally ARE you. Your body created this power, and you can absolutely rise to meet it.

Your body has ancient wisdom when it comes to birth. The urge to sway, rock, and change positions isn't random - it's your body actively creating more space for your baby to navigate the birth path.

Many women report feeling "stuck" when confined to one position. That's because movement isn't just comforting - it's functional! Upright positions use gravity to your advantage, while rocking and swaying help your pelvis open and shift to accommodate your baby.

Even small movements between contractions can make a big difference. This is why I always encourage my clients to listen to their bodies rather than forcing themselves to stay still. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply follow your instincts.

What position feels most comfortable to you during pregnancy? It might give you a clue about what will feel good during labour!

Your birth experience matters. It's not about "just getting through it" - it's about feeling empowered and confident.

Many women tell me they wish they'd learned earlier how mindset transforms birth. That's exactly why I created this hypnobirthing course.

Whether you're anxious about birth or healing from a previous experience, you deserve preparation that's as unique as you are.

Are you ready to transform fear into confidence? DM me to learn about my 4-week course - because you and your birth are worth investing in.

Contractions aren't something that happen TO you, they happen BECAUSE of you.

This little reframe made all the difference for me in labour. I suddenly felt empowered that my body was doing something incredibly powerful to bring my baby into the world.

Labor moves in waves, not constant intensity. Between each contraction, your body gives you natural moments to rest and gather strength. Your uterus—the strongest muscle you have—works in perfect coordination with your baby, guiding them through with ancient wisdom.

When you feel a contraction building, remember: this is purposeful work your body was designed for. Each surge brings you closer to meeting your baby—a journey that cannot be rushed but need not be feared.

Every person in your birth space carries an emotional frequency that can either support or disrupt your natural labour process. A calm, confident, and present birth partner can help reduce stress hormones, promote oxytocin production, and create an environment where your body feels safe to labour naturally.

Key tip: Choose a birth partner who listens without judgement, offers physical and emotional support, and believes completely in your ability to birth your baby.

Birth plans work best when viewed as flexible guidelines that help you explore your options and communicate your wishes—not as rigid scripts that must be followed.

The true power of a birth plan lies not in controlling outcomes, but in the informed decision-making process it encourages. Each choice you research becomes knowledge you carry into your birth space.

When birth takes unexpected turns, your preparation allows you to navigate decisions with confidence rather than fear.
