🧠✨ Quiz Time with Claire! ✨🧠

There’s nothing like a quiz to bring everyone together! Our residents enjoyed an afternoon of laughter, friendly competition, and brain-teasing fun, all hosted by our lovely team leader Claire.

It was the perfect mix of socialising and mental workout—proof that keeping the mind active can also bring plenty of smiles and shared moments. 💜

🌟 Cornelius House Staff Recognition Awards - Sept 2025 🌟

For going ‘Over & Above’, we are absolutely delighted to celebrate two of our amazing team members this month – Sonia Clark and Chloe Fogden. Their dedication, compassion, and positivity make a real difference to our residents and the whole Cornelius House team.

✨ Chloe has recently been promoted from Care Staff to Senior Carer – a role she is embracing brilliantly.
Chloe is kind, gentle, and supportive, bringing warmth and confidence to her new position. Her dedication to her team and residents shines through every day, and we are so proud to celebrate her success and achievements.

✨ Sonia is an exceptional member of our team, consistently going above and beyond.
Sonia’s kindness, compassion, and tireless commitment ensure that residents are not only cared for but truly comfortable and happy.
Her positive attitude and devotion make her an invaluable part of Cornelius House.

🏀🎉 Bounce, Laugh, Enjoy – We Had a Ball! 🎉🏀

Yesterday’s ball games session was an absolute hoot! Out came the balls, and everyone joined in the fun with activities like floor basketball, throwing and catching, and floor darts.
It was a non-competitive, joyful time of physical activity that also gave the mind a little workout with score totalling—some fantastic maths skills on display!

The activity was full of gentle encouragement and compassion, with residents cheering each other on and supporting one another throughout.
It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves while staying active and engaged.

A truly delightful morning of physical fun, mental stimulation, and shared laughter!

Out& About: From Rainy Roads to Sunny Smiles🌦️➡️☀️

Eileen had a wonderful trip to Tesco this week! 🛍️✨
Despite the rainy journey there, she loved picking out a few special bits for herself, sharing plenty of laughter (and a few cheeky sniggers!) as we explored the aisles together.
The sunshine joined us for the journey home, finished off with a well-deserved afternoon tea and treat. ☀️🍰💛”

We’ve got a wonderful line-up of entertainment and activities this month to keep spirits high and toes tapping! 🎤🎷💃

🎵 Geoff Valenti – Join us on Monday 1st September at 2pm for a lively afternoon of music featuring trumpet, harmonica, flugelhorn, guitar, and accordion. A performance not to be missed!

🎶 Annie Jo’s Vocal Show – On Wednesday 17th September at 2pm, Annie will delight us with her stunning voice and a selection of much-loved classics. Get ready to sing along and enjoy a truly uplifting afternoon.

✨ Plus, look out for our Musical Wonderland Show, Creative Talks, and much more — bringing stories, music, laughter, and interactive fun to our community.

✨ Residents enjoyed a stimulating and enjoyable morning with Julie, taking part in a lively game of Hangman on the interactive tablet.

The session encouraged plenty of participation, teamwork, and smiles all round.

Their commitment, compassion, and positivity shine through in everything they do, making a real difference to both residents and colleagues here at Cornelius House.

✨ Claire Birks has recently been promoted from Senior Care Staff to Team Leader – a role she thoroughly deserves. Claire is full of energy, warmth, and devotion to both residents and colleagues. She brings happiness and positivity wherever she goes, and we are so proud to see her step into this new chapter of her career. Congratulations, Claire – we wish you every success in your new role!

✨ Carys Hibell, our Senior Night Carer, is being recognised for consistently going above and beyond in her role. She shows great commitment and reliability, ensuring our residents are well cared for and supported throughout the night. Carys is a valued member of the team, and her hard work is greatly appreciated.

✨ Entertainment Afternoon – Tony Bonnetti & His Puppets!✨

What a fun-filled afternoon we had yesterday with the wonderfully talented Tony Bonnetti and his puppets! 🎭✨
Tony delighted everyone with a lively mix of magic tricks, puppet fun, and classic singalongs with residents and staff joining in with the music and enjoyed the light-hearted atmosphere – it truly was a magical afternoon for all. 🌟🐰🎶

Smiles all around – thank you Tony for such a special show! 💛

🧠✨ Sew Much Fun This Monday! 🪡

Monday’s here – where does the weekend go? 🎉
The day began with a fun quiz morning with Sonia which was full of fun, chatter & laughter and a little friendly competition which always had everyone thinking and smiling. 🧠✨
After lunch, we got creative with Renata’s ‘Sewing Creations’.
Just look at this gorgeous patchwork by Eileen & Joan – a combined project, brought to life today. Absolutely stunning! 👏🏻✨

A wonderful way to start off the week — teamwork, laughter, and a creative result that’s nothing short of beautiful - well done ladies! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

🍓Sparkling Conversations! 🍸

Gin & lemonade, scones and smiles — what could be better?
Our residents enjoyed a relaxed cream-tea afternoon on a warm day, topping it off with plenty of chatter and cheer. Look at those faces — pure pleasure.
