Established by Claudine Ickeringill in 1990, the practice relocated in 2010 from Little London to a contemporary showroom at the end of Baffins Lane. In August, we helped to balance 60 tonnes of carbon with the Buenos Aires Renewable Energy Project in Brazil via Net Zero Eyecare!

Illegal logging is one of the greatest challenges facing the Brazillian environment, and it’s even more poignant in areas of high poverty, like the Caatinga; one of the most threatened ecosystems on earth.

This project directly addresses the cause of illegal logging in the area, by addressing the need for fuel – which is usually wood and charcoal. Working with a local ceramic factory, this project has replaced the conventional wood fuel used in the kilns for locally-sourced agricultural biomass waste. This is perfect for the job in the factory, and updated kilns have helped reduce indoor air pollution and heat exposure for employees too, while local agricultural businesses gain additional income from selling what was previously as waste product.

Deeply ingrained in the community, this project positively supports the people and the environment in a multitude of ways.
