As I am currently a bed bug recovering from Posterolateral corner repair surgery, I felt I would share my approach to recovery.
🍵 is beneficial post as it is very nutritious and has specific nutrients necessary for recovery, especially following joint ligament and tendon repair.
Don’t forget the importance of following any injury or surgery!!
I added hand sized fresh turmeric and ginger, 1 whole bulb of garlic, fresh ground black pepper and 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to my basic broth due to the inflammation and blood-thinning (anticoagulant/antiplatelet) properties from a point Also added some bay leaves for taste, but they are also great at reducing inflammation.
🛑**NB It is important to know that these herbs are contra-indicated while taking any blood thinning medication, including cardiac aspirin. I am allergic to anti-inflammatory drugs and was prescribed cardiac aspirin for 30 days post surgery. I discussed with my surgeon about my approach from an integrative point of view and I am qualified to manage the titration myself, but please speak to a qualified professional before adding these herbs if you are prescribed any aspirin or blood thinning medication.
