FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL! Inspirational Thomas!
This is Thomas who started at school this week!
He has come so far since his diagnosis of Hepatoblastoma, a rare liver tumour. Our Care at Home Team have been there to support the family throughout his journey.
Mum says, " I think for me it means a lot, he is my last baby and a baby I never thought i would have and then when he was diagnosed of course my thoughts went to the place of what if he doesn’t make it. This was before we knew what cancer it was so for me this is very emotional. Here is this little boy who has been through so much in his little 4 years and is now starting this next chapter and it’s a chapter full of joy and excitement for the young man he will become.
He has come on leaps and bounds, especially since getting his hearing aids and to see his progression makes me immensely proud. He still has speech and language struggles because of the hearing but it hasn’t held him back. He is just an amazing kid, he’s full of adventure and wonder and constantly asks me ‘why’! He’s also a sassy four year old, he’s developed such a funny character. He loves his superhero’s and sonic and is getting into Lego which is fun! He is my best friend, my little hero and I’m going to miss him terribly. I’ve had 4 years of adventures in many forms with him. I think I’ll feel lost for a while. "
We wish Thomas and all our Snowdrop families the best as their children return to school.
