Sound and Voice Healing Studio

Sound and Voice Healing Studio 💫 Alexandra Rigazzi-Tarling - Selsey, W. Alexandra Rigazzi-Tarling is a Vocal Consultant, Sound Therapist and Tutor for the College of Sound Healing.

Sussex, Vocal Coach, Sound + Voice Healing, Accredited Vocal Sound Healer Practitioner Trainings and Workshops, Technical Voice 1-2-1s 💫 As a former Opera Singer she has worked with Voice for well over 25 years. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Music and a Masters Degree in Music Performance. Alexandra was brought up surrounded by

music and performance, as well as healing and complementary therapies. She spent several years as a working opera singer at international venues, but unfulfilled by this lifestyle, she turned her attention to working as a vocal coach specialising in vocal technique and performance psychology. In addition to this in 2014, Alexandra began to combine her traditional voice coaching with a complementary perspective. As a trained Sound Therapist, she became a tutor for the College of Sound Healing and created voice work that she calls 'Healing and Authentic' voice, assisting both professional voice users and beginners alike to find and work with their core, authentic vocal sound with both a technical and holistic approach. This often meant helping established speakers and performers understand and work with their voice on a deeper technical as well as psychological level, bringing extraordinary results. Alexandra runs accredited practitioner trainings in Sound Healing with the Voice (CoSH), she teaches for educational (including SEN) and corporate establishments (including Barristers' Chambers) for both singing and speaking, and she runs regular workshops in a range of Voice related subjects. Alexandra is passionate about the healing effects of voice on the body and mind and its ability to reflect a person's state of health and being on all levels. Her sessions empower people to begin a journey of personal development and wellness through the discovery of their own unique vocal sound.

⁉️It’s crazy isn’t it, that we should have so much judgment about the sound of our voice?

🤨And it’s not just about singing! You know that feeling when you hear your voice on a recording,

📣And you say, “is THAT what I sound like????”.

😳So many people are shocked when they hear their voice in the way that others do, and they can’t believe the way they sound,

😔And, so often they feel bad about it.

It’s another thing to criticise, like looking in the mirror and not being happy with what we see.

❓Yet, who wrote the rule book on what we SHOULD sound like?

Yes, if you want to be a pop singer, or an opera singer, or a musical theatre lead, then of course there are genre specific “rules” you need to adopt, as well as professionally train your voice, AND do loads of work, practice and so on.

🎶When I was a pro singer, I would often be singing between 6-8 hours a day. It was my job.

😐But generally, that’s not the norm, so what rules are we living by when we criticise our sound?

👉Here’s the thing;

👉When we start to work with our voice, we start to use it regularly, exercise it, listen back to it, grow it, cultivate it, nurture it,

👉we start to develop a part of ourselves that we didn’t think was possible.

👉Your voice is you, it is your creative energy, it is your means of expression.

😊Just by working with it more, YOU begin to change, because as you sound, it changes, it moves, it grows, it affects your physical body, your mind, your psychology, your spirit, your essence.

👏This isn’t about sounding and singing for anyone else. This is about building your voice as your creative expression.

⭐️And it is one of the most potent forms of healing and a pathway to personal development that I know.

⭐️I have seen such positive and happy shifts in people that have opened to their sound,

that’s why I made this my job.💙

Come and get to know your voice more deeply, see how it works, and have some fun with it in our workshop:

The Many Colours of the Voice for Healing - Sun 10th May at the Green Door Centre, Bosham, near Chichester, booking in bio.

No one has to sound alone and you can go at your own pace.

💙 I love this mantra as it focuses on the HUM but with a gentle soothing, lullaby rhythm and a perfect 5th in the Shrutii for balance. 💙

We just sang it in my Monday morning online Voice for Wellbeing and Meditation class (links to join us in bio).

Who doesn’t need a bit of soothing on a Monday morning?

Gentle humming holds so many wellbeing benefits from nervous system regulation to the release of nitric oxide in our system.

It also gifts us the opportunity to get to know our voice, our sonic vibration and identity free from genre conditioning,

without pushing, trying to be loud and forcing the voice.

😊Hum along with me and save for when you need a moment of calm. 🧘

(The tune is improvised on a version by Paramjeet Singh, Kaur)

🤔Most people don’t know what their authentic voice sounds—or feels—like.

😓Because we’ve learned to use the voice through pressure, conditioning, the need to “make it work” and to survive.

But your voice isn’t just for speaking or singing—

🧘it’s a powerful tool for healing, regulation, and presence.

😊Your natural vocal resonance can shift your energy, support your nervous system, and bring you back into alignment.

🧭And when you begin to explore your voice without judgement…

✅you uncover a sound that is truly yours,

✅confident, grounded, and purposeful.

✅You begin to uncover YOU.

🔧It all starts with understanding the mechanics.

👉In this workshop, you’ll learn how your voice actually works,

👉and how to build a simple, supportive daily practice to develop vocal confidence and authenticity.

👉Join Alexandra Rigazzi-Tarling

and Sarah Stephenson

for a day of vocal exploration, fun and discovery!

👉Understand the vocal mechanism and how sound is produced

👉Learn practical exercises to explore your authentic voice

👉Build tools you can return to daily

This isn’t about copying someone else—
it’s about coming home to your own sound.

✅Simple as that.

I see this over and over with both experienced and beginner speakers and vocal sounders,

they want more volume, more projection,

and they are pushing, squeezing, getting vocally tired,

and not becoming any more audible!

👉We have to address the basic vocal set up because if the back of your mouth is on lock down, teeth together, no jaw mobility,

👉then the vital resonance space at the back of your mouth will be non existent!

👉This can be for a number of reasons from a deep seated fear of expression and being heard to simply never being told!

If the resonance space at the back of your mouth is shut down,

chances are your tongue will retract causing lack of mobility in the larynx and a decreased tonal range,

people will say they can’t hear you,

you’ll feel discomfort when you’ve been speaking or sounding,

you will feel like your voice is not aligned with you because the sound you hear doesn’t FEEL ‘right’.

⭐️Our authentic vocal sound relies on SPACE to resonate efficiently.

⭐️ Space and a correctly placed vocal set up will allow for the harmonics of your natural sound to be evident.

⭐️ Your natural authentic sound is available when we understand how the voice functions on a physical level. It’s not a big mystery, I promise!

👉Try checking in with your basic vocal set up throughout the day.

❓What’s your jaw up to?

❓Where’s your tongue sitting in your mouth?

❓Are you breathing high into the chest or lower in the belly?

✅Get to know your daily voice set up habits first and bring this info to the practice room.

❓Otherwise, what are you practising?

❌Chances are you’re working in old negative patterns that are at the root of your frustration 🤨

💫Episode 13 of The Vocal Sound Healing Podcast is now live on YouTube and Spotify.💫

💫Ep.13 Refining Your Fundamental Frequency

In this episode Alexandra discusses how the first principle of sound healing, ‘frequency’, can be applied to our own life and work, and how if we learn to define and refine what frequency we are sending out into the world, we can bring significant shifts to our reality and healing journey.

In this episode Alexandra discusses:

👉What is your fundamental frequency?

👉Applying the vibrational nature of reality to our own life and work

👉Looking through the lens of Quantum Biology and how it provides many answers for vocal sound healers

👉Going deeper than the composite frequency of the voice

👉Going deeper than affirmation and its potential band aid effects

👉How unprocessed energy affects our frequency in the present time

👉Considerations for wellness practitioners, their business and their fundamental frequency

👉Fear and desperation - super low frequencies and ideas of how to overcome them

👉The power of your underlying intention, not just the mind

👉Cultivating your purpose, your choice.
