🦆Teacher Assistant & Animal Care Opportunity🐴

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable adult to join our team who has excellent experience with children and horses. You would be helping with the general care of a variety of animals and assisting both teachers and therapists as needed throughout the day. The position is part time and on a self-employed basis. We need extra help on a Wednesday 09:00 till 14:30 and further flexible days are available. Based near Walderton, PO18 9JP.

This month marks a year since Dylan completed his sessions with Helen at the Haven and I wanted to message and tell you what an incredible year he has had. Helen and the Haven really gave him what he needed to move on to secondary school after a year of absence from an actual school. This year has seen the confidence and enthusiasm that Helen gave him to succeed bloom, he has taken to school with bounding aspirations to succeed and made some truly remarkable friendships, academically he has flourished and achieved a bronze in the National math championships. Last week he took part in sports day and his compassion and resilience shown through when watching him help younger ones who were nervous and standing in at the last second for team mates who found it all a bit much. He has finished his first year of secondary school a million miles ahead of where we thought he would ever be and that is hugely down to Helen and the team at the Haven.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER FOR ANIMAL & NATURE ASSISTED LEARNING

Do you have:
- Significant teaching experience, ideally in the primary sector
- Excellent knowledge of SEND and neuro-diversity in education
- Relevant experience with trauma-informed approaches to education
- A love for the outdoors (you will be working outdoors all year round)
- Very experienced and confidence around horses
- A passion for working with children who have significant educational and emotional needs
- Skills to collaborate with a small, closely-knit team of professionals

The Haven offers:

- Training and support tailored to the role
- A beautiful setting with our animal colleagues to make each day enjoyable
- Potential for additional hours as the role develops
