Road Trip Yoga Weekly yoga, strength & conditioning classes. Mon 8.30am Hatha Boost. Thurs 9am Yin Yoga, Thurs 10.15am Easy Yoga. @ The Selsey Centre.

Ancient ways of tribal living inspired me to become a yoga teacher. Getting back to something we have lost. Classes take influences from buddhism and hinduism as well as from other tribal cultures providing powerful insights to living a life more connected to each other, our energy and the planet. Classic yoga sequencing, preparation for postures with a general emphasis on breath work and alignment feature in each class. And where possible bringing in additional movements to these postures from kundalini yoga and qi gong that help us connect to the flow of prana, qi (chi) or sami in and around our bodies. Encouraging us to re-connect to our senses and expand these beyond our physical bodies and back out into the world around us. Skills we use less and less each day in the modern world of turn this on, re-charge that, microwave this, copy and paste that. Workshops and some classes have drumming, meditation, cleansing and rattling. Including connecting to certain areas of the body (heart intelligence, gut instinct) as well as focusing on elements in nature (earth, water, air, fire, spirit). Workshops also include themes of journeying to non-ordinary reality (lower, middle and upper worlds). All helping to raise our awareness and bring balance to our lives and bodies. Hi everyone,
90 minute Hatha Yoga class at Bracklesham Barn (near Billy's on the Beach) is on! £15 a place.
Saturday 9th March with a 10am start.
The usual good quality hatha yoga style (sun salutes, warrior poses, good warm up, stretching, planks, breathwork..) just with a little bit more time to get into it. And out of it.
Cup of tea at Billy's afterwards?
If it goes well it could be a monthly thing. And when summer and the heat kicks in we can take it down on to the beach.
Throw in some paddle / surf boards and some spiritual chat about the universe, non-duality, ego mind, the higher self etc. What's not to like?

Your neocortex is like a brick wall with you banging up against it every morning you wake up. Limiting you, protecting you, keeping you safe.
Very handy to notice it is doing that so you can imagine even bigger ideas that break through this process. In your wildest dreams / imagination what would you really be doing today..? If there were no limits. No barriers.. because that version of you / events really does actually exist..

So when I wake up in the morning and my mind is planning, scheming, plotting, moaning, not happy with work, self preserving, micro managing and rational thinking.
It doesn't mean I'm mad and need to find a way to stop this. Which feels like trying to stop the tide coming in or parting the red sea.
It means it's just my brain in Beta brain wave mode. And it's just my neocortex and subconscious mind working away. Doing there thing. Getting to work every day.
Really is such a relief to recognise this and acknowledge that it's normal.
So I just breath and wait for when I can get back the Theta or Gamma brain wave states flowing. Then plan, dream, imagine, (idealise, visualise) my dream future / family / job / creativity etc..
Now I can feel the neocortex and subconscious barriers in place as my thoughts bounce up against them every day. So I now understand why I've come to certain maybe limiting conclusions about areas in my life.
Now the thoughts are starting to push a little bit deeper into and even go through the wall / barrier that has been set up there for years..
Very liberating to feel the thoughts probing, going deeper, beyond their restrictions and being free again. That freedom we always used to have (when we were younger / kids?).
p.s. But it takes a lot of work. The muscles are weak and need to be retrained again. They need to re-learn how to push the boundaries. Think really big!!
