From the stunning mosaic windows to the breath-taking ceiling, there was plenty to marvel at. After the tour, everyone enjoyed a warming winter soup and a scenic drive home — a truly memorable day out 🏰💛

Residents recently enjoyed a trip to the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, filled with history and personal memories.

Colleen soon found herself recalling fond moments of her late husband, who trained as a pilot and later became an instructor. She delighted in recognising many of the planes he had flown, despite her own fear of flying.

The outing concluded with a relaxed pub lunch at the Chichester Inn, where everyone enjoyed good food, friendly conversation, and a day of shared memories and discovery.

We were thrilled to welcome Michael, renowned Organist, Pianist, Musical Director, and Trustee of both The Theatre Pipe Organ Preservation Society and the London & South of England Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society.

Michael brought along his portable organ, filling our home with the uplifting sounds of much-loved classics, including favourites from the Last Night of the Proms.

The performance was enjoyed by residents and staff alike. It was an especially touching moment for Michael’s mother, Hazel, one of our residents, who was delighted to share her son’s wonderful gift with her Wellington Grange family.

Wellington Grange residents enjoyed a delightful excursion to Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery recently.

A highlight of the visit was a series of beautifully recreated period room sets, transporting visitors through time from the Tudor era — the age of the Mary Rose — to the 1940s. The 1930s kitchen proved especially popular, sparking fond memories and lively conversation. Adding a touch of fun to the afternoon, residents also enjoyed trying on vintage hats from the museum’s dressing-up collection.

After a light lunch, the group made their way back to Wellington Grange via the scenic coastal route.

At Wellington Grange, our garden is more than just a green space – it is the heart of our home.

Our residents take great joy in spending time outdoors, guided by our skilled and passionate gardener, Emily, and supported by the Companionship Team. Whether nurturing tomatoes and sweet peas or creating fragrant lavender bags, there is always an opportunity to engage, explore, and connect with nature.

Recently, Emily shared her vision for enhancing the garden layout, and our residents eagerly joined in to help bring it to life!

For Trish, our recent minibus trip was more than just a day out — it was a return to the cherished surroundings of her hometown.

Trish spent many happy years living in South Harting, with Petersfield as her favourite spot for shopping and leisure. She was so pleased to revisit and wander the familiar streets, browse the shops she once frequently visited, and enjoy a quiet moment in one of her old favourite cafés.

It was a heart-warming reminder of how these outings aren’t just fun excursions — they’re deeply personal moments that reconnect our residents with the places and stories that have shaped their lives.
