Whether you're heading for open water or the pool, your choice of swimwear colour matters.

Dark or dull colours can be almost invisible in open water – making it much harder for rescuers to spot you in an emergency.

Opt for bright, contrasting colours like neon yellow, orange, or pink to stay visible 🩱

And remember the RNLI’s lifesaving advice if you get into trouble in the water: FLOAT TO LIVE...

🔵 Relax and try to breathe normally
🔵 Move your arms and legs gently to stay afloat
🔵 Call for help or swim to safety if you can

Being hydrated has many benefits for both a person’s physical and mental health.

As we get older, the desire to drink fluids naturally decreases making the elderly more vulnerable to dehydration.

Dehydration can increase the risk of developing a urinary tract infection(UTI).

It is possible to develop an UTI any time of the year, but there is increased risk during the summer.

A new milestone for Haslemere Minor Injuries Unit ( MIU) 💙

Our Haslemere Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) has set a new record!

Our MIU team has just achieved something extraordinary – treating 1,891 patients in May alone, with every single person seen within the four-hour national target.

This is the highest number of patients we've ever treated in a single month since opening 22 years ago, and it’s a 30-40% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Our brilliant nurse practitioners have worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone 👏

📣 Exciting news ahead: our Minor Injuries Unit is expanding this summer to become an Urgent Treatment Centre, meaning we'll also be able to help with minor illnesses like ear and throat infections, rashes, and high temperatures. This move supports ongoing efforts to make local urgent care more accessible and to ease pressure on other NHS services, including A&E departments.
