Truth is ... therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all timeline.

That's why we don't try to pigeon-hole or squeeze anyone into a set number of sessions - you're in charge of how long you come for and what feels right for you.

But the good news is that most people who work with us say they feel a shift after the first counselling session. 🥳

Feeling stressed?

I bet you're holding your breath.

When we're stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or angry, we tend to hold our breath without even realising it.

But holding your breath won't help you hold it all together.

In fact, it does the opposite.

So ... breathe. Slowly. It helps.

Take a second. Inhale slowly. Exhale even slower.

Repeat.

Sometimes the smallest reset is the one that helps the most.

We hate to break it to you - especially as we're only just starting to become friends - but you will still have problems in your life after therapy.

The difference will be in:

👉 How you perceive those problems (they won't feel so big or unsurmountable)

👉 How you feel about the problems (way less stressed)

👉 How you react to the problems (you probably won't like them but you know you'll be able to deal with them)

👉 How you deal with or resolve the problems (with strength, confidence and resilience)

We had a fantastic time connecting with residents and organisations at the recent Multiagency Drop-in session at One YMCA High Wycombe 💜

Marian Kennedy, our Founder and Joint CEO, was joined by two of our incredible counsellors to talk about our work in the local area and how we’re supporting mental health in the community.

We’re thrilled to share that — thanks to funding from Heart of Bucks — aMAZing Therapy Centre is returning to deliver 160 hours of one-to-one counselling for YMCA residents this year 🙌

With high demand and overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents and staff, it’s clear this support is both valued and needed.

Raneems law is long overdue and will save lives..

Thank you to Channel 5 news for inviting us to discuss the impacts and positive differences it will make.

From those with lived experience of calling 999 due to domestic abuse, this is something we absolutely back and would like to see extended to 101 call centres as many victim survivors use this route to report.

This, alongside many other measures needed for prevention, protection, and prosecution.

Thank you to our brave client who shared her experiences to highlight the need also.
