South West K9 Hydrotherapy Centre works closely with surrounding Vets and Canine Practioners to provide hydrotherapy in a safe and controlled environment.

All members of staff are fully qualified and members of NARCH & IAAT. The South West K9 Hydrotherapy Centre is a modern centre built with the client in mind both four legged and two. Our centre is run by fully qualified canine hydrotherapist Sam Jones who studied at the world famous Greyfriars Practise (please look at qualifications album so see certificates)
Hydrotherapy is hugely beneficial in many ways for canines such as aiding rehabilitation after surgery or trauma, relieving discomfort for e.g. in an elderly dog suffering from arthritis, reducing obesity, promoting physical wellbeing, increasing fitness and muscle condition, aiding in neurological problems such as nerve damage and spinal issues and maintaining the use and function of joints suffering from orthopaedic conditions. Swimming is a low impact form of exercise which will only benefit a dog suffering from the above conditions as oppose to running/walking on hard ground which can add and worsen the condition. All dog's need fun, exercise, stimulation and love which is what we promote at our centre. ⭐️SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK ⭐️

This weeks spotlight is firmly on this fantastic duo of Tia & Todd! A massive happy first birthday to the best behaved golden retrievers we’ve ever seen! 🥳

Tia and Todd have come swimming since they were tiny pups and now they’re pretty much full grown! Absolutely full of life, these two are wonderful pups and we have the best time swimming with them ❤️

Did you know that swimming is the perfect exercise for young dogs? It allows them to move and exercise without putting any pressure through their still forming and growing joints/bones!

SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK 🤩

This weeks dog in the spotlight in lovely little Jack Russell Terrier Nessy!

Nessy is a beautiful JRT who originally came from France 🇫🇷. She’s a lucky girl who gets to travel all over with her dad and even gets to ride on a boat now and again!

Nessy was unfortunately in an accident which led to a a fractured pelvis and a loss of feeling down her left hind. This left her using her left leg like a crutch rather than a normal leg and unable to feel much from the hip down.

Nessy has improved enormous amounts and has been seen to be using her leg normally on occasion! In the pool there’s lots of movement from her hip down to her toes and she’s increased the muscle mass on her left leg a lot! We’re very proud of her 🥳🥳

SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK 🤩

Our very first spotlight of the week is Harper 🐶 watch out for her on the screen in the centre this week!

Harper is a 10 year old Springer Spaniel. Shes a self proclaimed bog dog but loves everything about coming to see us apart from the swimming! We love seeing her massive smile as soon as she steps a paw in the door and her bum wiggles of excitement.

Harper came to see us with stiff and sore hips due to hip dysplasia and the beginnings of a right hind cruciate issue. After a few weeks of swimming the cruciate was no longer a concern and instead we targeted her hips to build strength and ensure she moves in the correct way. Harper is now back to off lead walking with plenty of sniffs and fun.

A huge well done to her mum Tori for persevering with lead walks/limited madness as it meant Harper could get back to full spaniel sooner rather than later!

What a team ❤️

As we stand down for a little Christmas break we both wanted to take the opportunity to say a massive Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from all of us at South West K9 Hydro centre 🎄.

Thankyou for supporting our small business all year it really does mean the world to us. We genuinely care about every dog (and their human) that walks through our door ❤️.
